Dodgy message on Facebook

In my FB inbox today I have a message from someone I don't know and who doesn't seem to know any of my friends.
The message is titled: Important
and the subject is:
this mgs is for u only...about ur husband.
There is no link to click on so if it is a scam I can't see what the point is other than to cause trouble?
Any ideas or anyone know if this is common, I've not been using Facebook for long.
I'm pretty sure it's just someone playing tricks but it is bugging me.
Thanks x

If someone wanted to tell you something, they'd do it properly, not send coded messages.
I'd delete it and give it no more thought. (I'd tell DH about it too, incase someone is trying to stir trouble - he might have one about you!)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Is that all it says...or is there actually a message ? I dont go on facebook either as its not really my thing. Dont really know what to say if thats all that was sent to you? Sorry I 'm not much use , but if there is no actual message then I would just delete it.JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200 FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £2000

If you don`t know him/her and s/he has no friends in common i would ignore it!
Make sure your account is set to private as s/he may be viewing your profile, photos and information.
Very unlikely s/he has info for you or s/he would of just sent a message saying `whatever it is`.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

You could always try googling the person's name, other people may have received similar messages, and like someone else has just said, check your privacy settings.,___,

Thanks, I think my privacy is OK but I'll check again, yeah I searched the persons name and nothing.
I didn't know whether to mention to DH as he might think I don't trust him etc, but yes he might have one about me too! I could just check his acount though, we both have each others passwords lol!
Thanks for your reports. It was just a little unsettling. xx0 -
Something like this happened to a women in a newspaper, she recieved these kind of messages - and it turned out they were not true, send by someone just being nasty who neither her nor anyone on her friends list actually knew her. Go through your facebook, delete anyone you dont know or not very well, make sure your privacy settings are on high and ignore the message. I could be wrong but once she is not added to your friends list she cannot send messages. Its just a horrible prank. Maybe check your husband does the same thing.0

I would have a look to see if I could work out who this person was, if you can see their profile info.
I know of someone who was 'outed' about an affair when a third party contacted his wife to blow the whistle on an affair he was having, so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility, however you don't seem to think this is possible in your case.
If this person is completely unconnected to you in any other way, it seems a very strange thing to do out of the blue. I use facebook all the time, and have never heard of anything like this before. Again, I'd check the security settings of your information, ensure your photos and everything else are set so that only your friends can see.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

If you haven't accepted this person as a friend, report them0

Just checked any my privacy was set high anyway but for some reason I had that anyone can send a message. Have changed that and will tell DH to as well.
Haven't people got anything better to do with their time!0 -
