Ryanair rip off

When printing out your Boarding Pass when checking in on line, make sure you leave it on an A4 sheet, some airports such as Alicante refuse it if its not on A4, they then charge you €40 to give you the old style card. I had trimmed the blank area off to leave just a printed area which was still very readable electronically and visualy without +2 reading glasses. It was accepted by security and Ryanair at the returning airport Stansted where the bar code was read, and there were no queries as to the blank areas being taken off. At Alicante the handling agent said it was another way of Ryanair making money.

Ryanair only say they charge if you do not present a Boarding Pass0

I have only flown with Ryanair once, but I'm pretty sure in the T&C's online, or during the check in process, it specifically states to leave the boarding card on an A4 piece of paper and not to cut it or you will be charged €40.0

The Terms and Conditions state the following:
Each boarding pass must be printed and presented on an individual A4 page. Any passenger failing to present their online boarding pass at airport security or at the boarding gate will be charged a Boarding Card Re-issue Penalty of £40/€40 per person/per one way flight at the airport self service kiosk or ticket desk. This facility is available up to 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure.
It says nothing about not cutting but does say any passenger failing to present their Boarding Pass etc etc. I did present a Boarding Pass and got charged.
I have flown Ryanair numeros times and have used online booking and trimmed the Boarding Pass and had NO problen at Murcia and Luton0 -
May I ask why you want to cut it ?
Its states clear A4 piece of paper not a A4 piece of paper that has been trimmed, like you I am a regular on The Luton /Murcia route but would never consider cutting my Boarding pass for any reason ?
When you signed the T & C you waived away your rights I am afraid !
NO RIP OFF here just a case of not reading the T & C's"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Does it matter if it`s only printed in black and white?

Nope, nor is it a " Rip Off " it is down to the user ignoring the rules as usual.0 -

When is an A4 piece of paper not an A4 piece of paper?
When it has been cut! :TGone ... or have I?0 -
Another thing not to do is print double sided because when they tear off the bit on the outward leg the corresponding part for the return leg will be missing. Someone at work told me they were behind someone at the airport that had done this and it cost them £40.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
