It seems that you didn't notice that I'd already posted the saveflights link.

At 14000 baht, I'm sure that you wouldn't suggest that pjran's daughter travels on Biman Bangladesh?

    Thank you Donnie.
We've managed to get a phone to her, so we are now in contact usually by txt.I will send her the prefix numbers, will they work with O2(they supplied another SIM).

No, it won't work with the O2 SIM.

I would suggest that she removes the O2 SIM from the telephone and replaces it with a HAPPY SIM card from Thailand. It costs £3(199 baht) at any 7/11. This will reduce call and text message costs considerably. calls to the UK will be 10p per min. with the prefix I showed you earlier. Text messages, 7 pence each.
You could use one of the call through numbers to call her Thai number for 1 or 2 pence per minute. For text messages, I can give you access to an account which will allow you to send her up to 50 text messages per month for free.

how long has she been there? my estimate is that she would have to apply for another visa or an extension which can also cost money. if she hasnt got any money how is she surviving?it can cost 14000 baht for a single from bangkok plus taxes living costs can be up to 1000 a day thats just two weeks spending money.. even more confused just hope she doesnt do what other desperate back packers do in thailand

A fair bit of overreaction there. What has the price of a flight got to do with spending money?

Her family are looking after her, they just need a little advice on where best to use their resources.
    So no panicky stories please.

For some Thailand is a breath of fresh air, compared to their lives in the UK. Certainly if it's a trip of a lifetime, thus far, she won't be in any hurry to leave because of such a minor incident.

Anyway, I'll be out there in late August to keep an eye on her. :)

My advice, avoid Biman Bangladesh. If you're strapped for cash, fly with Kuwait or next Gulf. Otherwise Etihad/Qatar/Eva/BA.

Of course, the visa advice is correct and very important.
Does she have a visa to cover the length of her stay?
If not, she'll have to cross an official border and then return across it, in order to gain a 30 day visa free stay. She can do this multiple times if necessary.
Make sure this is in order, as people have been jailed and deported for this.
Oops! Now I'm getting panicky. :)

I'm taking in all this advice-thanks very much.

I'll certainly pass on the Happy Sim details to her, thanks Donnie.

Her visa is up to date, she left Thailand and went to Kuala Lumpur for a while, but I will remind her to do a visa run again if she decides to buy a oneway ticket home to extend her gap year holiday and not use her return ticket.I was wondering if we could apply to Thaiair for a refund on the taxes or fuel surcharges on the unused ticket.

And yes, mothers do worry and see danger in everything.
