Could some one please give me some advice.
My daughter is enjoying her holiday in Thailand so much so that instead of returning in August would like to stay on for another 4 or 5 weeks. Her flight can not be changed and the quotes I've had so far for a one way ticket back to London have been a joke.I thought I was being quoted for bus or 1st class seat.
Thanks
Pj

Have you checked for return flights? When we moved back from Canada we spent a few weeks travelling in California. A one way flight was more than twice the cost of a return.
Needless to say, we just ditched the return portion of the ticket. What goes around - comes around0 -
I've spoken to a couple of travel agents and I've suggested buying a return flight deal. They told me that if the outward journey is not used then the airline cancels the return to the UK flight. Its cheaper to buy a return flight than a one way back to London.zappahey wrote:Have you checked for return flights? Here are the relevant prices, along with contact details; http://www.saveflights.com/country/united-kingdom.html
There is a difficulty paying remotely for tickets in Thailand. Payment will normally involve sending a fax containing a copy of the passport picture page and copy of both sides of the credit card via facsimile.
Alternatively, your daughter could pay for the flight in Thailand and you could reimburse her, if you wish. Expect to pay around £300 - £315 for a one way flight. Try Etihad Airways.
If neither of these are suitable, you can go here; http://www.britishairways.com/travel/home/public/en_th and book the flight directly. Expect to pay £400 for a one way flight.
You can also book online with Etihad Airways ; https://www.etihadairways.com/Presentation/default.aspx
Though your daughter may still need to pay at the Etihad office in Bangkok. Ticket cost £315.0 -
I'm not sure how she can pay over there as she had her bag stolen with bank card, phone etc.Donnie wrote:Here are the relevant prices, along with contact details; http://www.saveflights.com/country/united-kingdom.html

I'll contact British Airways and Etihad.
Really appreciate your help.
Thanks

British Airways you can pay with your credit card as they have e-tickets. Etihad, you may be able to book on the website, but you may need to pay at their office in Bangkok.
If she's had her bank card and phone stolen etc., how will she survive until September?
If she's in Bangkok,(which I doubt) she can pick up a mobile telephone with local SIM card(Happy) for around 2000 baht(£30). Calling home will cost 10p per min if she prefixes the UK number with 009 44 ***. You can call her for as little as 1p per min using a callthrough number.
Of course if you trust her you can courier a card out to her.
All else fails, there's Western Union.
BTW, don't contact BA. They'll just try to sell you an overpriced ticket. Book via the link I've given you.0 -
Thank you Donnie.
We've managed to get a phone to her, so we are now in contact usually by txt.I will send her the prefix numbers, will they work with O2(they supplied another SIM).
