Warm Front has gone cold

We've got no heating or hot water and were accepted on the 6 October2009 for the Warmfront scheme and nothing has been done yet. Hubby phoned them a month ago and was told it would be another 17 weeks , phoned them again today and was told the job hadn't been allocated yet! Goodness knows how long we'll have to wait!0

we`ve been waiting since november,i spoke to them again last week and was assured that they are now working on applications fro 20th november onwards, the good news i was informed was that once the engineer had been out work is being done in a matter of weeks0

I really hope youre right Woodbine, but i have had 2 different conversations; one said they were dealing with apps from the beginning of Nov (last week), and one said that they shouldnt say these things as they really cant tell!:( However, 2 months ago, they said they were dealing with oct apps. Therefore its taking them 2 months to deal with a month, IYSWIM! Ie my initial assessment was 30th nov, so i wont hear for 2 months! Grrr. We'll see i guess.:(0 -

Hi woodbine,
My hubby phoned them yesterday and our application was accepted on the 6th October 2009 and we still haven't been allocated so their response isn't really true.0 -

Hi,
I applied for my mum last year in October (2009). The assessment was carried out in Novemeber 2009, but thats it - we havent heard anything.
Done the usual phone calls, chasing and waiting but still nothing.
I last phoned last week and they said they are only reviewing October cases - to which is really not good enough.
Having spent all of last winter in the cold with no heating and hot water, my fears are the same will happen this winter as we are now half way through the year already.
Can anyone advise when we should be expecting the installation? or rough timescales?

I hope this is appropriate as I already posted over on an air source heat pump (ASH)P thread before discovering this one.
My mother is to have an ASHP and oversized radiators fitted free under a scheme from HEES delivered by eaga.. However when the eagaheat installation engineer came to draw up the plans he said that the pipework had to be in the ceiling and down the wall and across the skirting to each radiator because he was Quote "not allowed to bury the pipework in concrete".
Since then I have discovered the bungalow has screed floor into which are neat channels (4 "x 2" with mdf sides and removable tops) that carry the existing pipework for the old lpg central heating. When I recently asked him to reconsider and put the pipes to the radiators in the existing ducting he has said that it was under the rules of the grant scheme that he was not allowed to run pipework under the floor and all had to be from the ceiling down. Anything else would be in danger of failing inspection and he would be forced to have it replaced at his cost. Frankly this doesnt ring true considering the suitability of ASHP and underfloor heating. I wonder if anyone has experience of ASHP and radiator installation with eaga or Warmfront under grants that can comment or alternatively if you had pipes run under floors or in channels in solid floors under eaga grants?
Obviously I don't want to hack off the installer company by repeatedly questioning the truth but I wonder how to find out the rules that govern this installation.

I have just had my Warmfront installation, which i am very pleased with:j. I have both solid floors and floorboards. Where floorboarded, the pipes go underneath, and where solid, they go around the skirting and are boxed in. It looks ok. At no point did he say there was any alternative to going around the skirting board, apart from possibly going up in the roof (bungalow), and down behind the curtains. Hope this helps.0
