Can i clarify are you been rude mike or just friendly sarcasm about the builder if its more rudeness its put me off posting :S as in the gentleman jonni? i thought it was nice of him to offer help...

Don't worry, it was just a leg-pull last night and he went along with it. We've been in touch by PM. He's a good sport and I genuinely appreciate his offer of help which may need to be taken up at the appropriate moment. His skills are invaluable to me and I'm extremely grateful to him for wading in as he did. He doesn't know me and I am sure he gets everyone asking for free advice, but he's just a nice bloke, who can take a joke and give as good as he gets. I expect he gets fed up with people thinking everyone connected with building is the same and they're not. I admire and respect a good builder's range of skills, and the best of them are as professional as any of the 'professions'. There are just a few who bring the trade into disrepute.

Anyone who knows me knows that while I can take the p out of people mercilessly, it's always done in good spirit, and I'm not the sort of person who would be rude to anyone. Jonni went along with it completely, and I thought it was genuinely a funny thread. If he disagrees, the floor's his to say so.

Phew I was Reading them posts early hours of the morning glazed eyes so I probably misunderstood what was meant my bad :-) sometimes it's hard to tell with text type what is meant at 3am in the morning I'm not finely tuned in. Off for a relaxing hour in the dentist's chair, then I'll be gorgeous again.

Bit of a challenge though - he's 58 miles way and the car says it's prepared to go 100 miles on the petrol it has available.

My current account has £2.90 in it. It's going to be a bit exciting coming home...

Some good progress on the legal side. I can't say what as Walls Have Ears but it might strengthen my case for getting him to sell the house. More detail as soon as I can.

Called the b*stard boiler's manufacturers and they say it has 18 months warranty. News to me. I made it 14 and it's older than that. They should be out to fix it free of charge sometime then. I'll miss standing in the garage in my jammies at 6am cajoling it into producing heat.

Another result. I'll think about that during the long walk home... If you see a damp and dishevelled figure somewhere along the A23, wave?

58 miles away! thats bloody ridiculous for a start !!!!!!!g poxy NHS dentists grrrrrrrrrrrrrr hope u find shortcut/manage to freewheel etc or at least get reasonably close to home before u run out! hell shall worry now and won't be checking back in til late tonight!
any news on the job? or u may have to flog the carnation and that would a horrific state of affairs!!!!! xx
