    Hi Mike

You asked who was following this thread? Me! I usually post on the wedding board but lurk over here now and again. I noticed your thread near the beginning and pop over every couple of days or so to see how you're getting on. I don't have any practical advice which is why I haven't posted before but just wanted to say good luck and I hope you've frightened the "bleeping" builder with your phone call :)

I really hope you have your dream cottage eventually and that 2010 is good year for you. I'll keep popping back to hear the good news

    Take care

Thank you very much for your positive vibes.

    Mike - that's brilliant news.
Although, is it really bad that I want to transfer the 8 quid right now just to find out?? haha!!

What's the implications if it turns out he was lying under oath? Can that go in your favour?
Did he say anything about what they were or how much?

Is it possible that if he has loads of debt that the equity he has in his house wouldn't cover it?
I know you said there's loads of equity, but just a thought.

Did I miss how the USS went?? Everything ok???

Oh i wish i had been a fly on the wall for that call! :rotfl:
Maybe the found of running camera men will finally get his !!! into gear n get your money back.
The thing with the ccj's, he prob did get them all after his stint in court with you as my guessing is that he didn't take the other ones seriously either and then having that useless judge saying what she said he prob didn't see any harm or threat in getting a couple more. !!!!!!.

Oh well off to microwave tea for lil demons.;)

Sounds very likely. I'm really surprised at the depth the BBC goes into things before they get near a camera. Quite encouraging really.

I looked this up. I know we're all here because we're in debt (mine's £11k and rising) but the system doesn't half make it easy for people who 'won't' pay. If he failed to provide answers under oath he gets a suspended sentence, in effect. They give him another date to try again and if he doesn't answer again, they arrest him. He's brought before a judge (get this) and if he's willing to answer there and then he's OK.

    MAD MAD MAD MAD MAD!

I don't know how much additional debt there is yet, but apparently the largest CCJ amount's £11,000. So it's all well within the £167,000 odd equity. That's if he sells the house. It's easier all round if he borrows against the house. In which case he may already have done so up to the hilt (plus a few quid for a holiday or whatever) and it might be harder for him to borrow enough to pay me. I am pessimistic but that's one way of looking at it.

USS went well. Ready to Boldly Go whenever the opportunity arises. Of course that doesn't explain why les noisettes bloody hurt now and then.

Well that's the last time I take a break to sleep and do housework - Interesting Developments happen when my back's turned!
I'm really sorry you won't get to spend time with your boys this weekend. Hopefully all this will mean that in the longer term you get lots more time with them.
Are they excited about you going on TV?

Does a bear !!!! in the woods?

    I am, officially, wicked, apparently.

    Haha...bloody swearing!

I guess you'll have to play this one by ear...

Just one more thought - if he were to offer to finish the work on your house at his expense, would you take it?

Funny how the thought of being publicly shamed as the builder from hell made him suddenly sit up & take notice.:p If he was playing footie, I hope he got kicked in the NUTS! If he was watching, I hope his team lost!:rotfl::rotfl:Either way, I bet his evening was ruined:rotfl::D:rotfl::D:rotfl::D

:j Well done you, How I would have loved to have seen the look on his face, I can imagine the colour draining from his face & the ear bashing he'll be getting from his missus. Aaahh! Go on Mike, tell me you danced a little jig when you got off the phone.

Not too bad a thing with the TV interview being slightly delayed though. You've a tough day tomorrow with the tribunal anyway (for which I wish you well).

Very interesting discoveries & developments though & I wonder what more will be discovered about his dodgy dealings, not that we didn't already have our suspicions!!!

I know you were concerned about the builders reaction if he found out about any publicity. Any harrassment Mike & you report him straight away, he should have been locked up before now anyway!

So sorry about your disappointment this weekend, :(. Don't be to downhearted mate, you've seen how quickly circumstances can change & in your case, a great deal can happen in a day! I know you like to see your boys at the weekend so I can understand why you're sad but just think of how much you'll have to talk about next week. I would guess they're pretty proud of their Dad just now & his TV debut must have them pretty impressed.

    Fingers crossed for tomorrow! xx:)

Just a word of advice about your benefit tribunal tomorrow. Don't tell them how effectively you're fighting this builder thing or they'll use that as an excuse to say you're not depressed. Talk about how you've been affected etc but don't say you've had a surge of energy to fight back. The key is to tell them how it is on bad days, not good days.

    Best of luck.

Thanks for that. I'm swinging my attention over to that. I'd hoped they'd judge it out of court as it were but it seems it's still on. Another day ruined!

You're so right. I was thinking how they'll feel when I go bouncing all over their screens like the Cillit Bang man just hours after I limp (metaphorically) into the tribunal... but if they know anything about depression at all they'll know that people can be 'the life and soul of the party' in public but will collapse in on themselves later. Or someone close to them will bear the brunt of it. It's a !!!!!. I've been on both sides of that fence.

I will tell them exactly what you suggest.

Thank you very much indeed for thinking about me.
