    OMG

Mike i take my hat off to you
    you have shown real courage
    strength and determination

i have just finished reading this thread
from the start (took 3 days)

I really admire all you have achieved
and the support you have been given
    is great.

    I wish you well

    kas xx

Thanks kas. I don't think I'm different to anyone else on here, and when you've got to get through something you usually can. I am very fortunate to have lots of new friends here who have had problems of their own and know where I'm coming from so when I let off steam they were still my friends.

So, everything is currently running to plan then Mike.....?

Just viewed your pics, I cant wait to see the final thing.......

Things couldn't be better, but it's getting awfully busy now! I'm sure I'll sit down and reflect on all that's happened sometime, but not for a while!

Good luck with the interviews tomorrow Mike!!

Yes, nothing to be worried about.

Apart from looking a plonker in front of a million people!

    No pressure then.

 Wow MIKE those photos are something else. No wonder you were depressed - I would have been suicidal. :(

Us girls have got our digs sorted out at last, ready to party

Good luck with the interviews. Are your boys nervous? Bet they do you proud. Enjoy it. ( I am off the hook for the interview tomorrow :j)

Yep. That is a phase I went through. I had lots of help at the right time. Having problems with the place you live in cuts through every aspect of your life.

Is there any chance someone can post up a bit of a summary of activities please.

Having been away for a couple of weeks, I've read back lots of pages to catch up but am still floundering a bit.

Is it just by invite only if you get one from the BBC ?
Which days are best to come and help ?
What tools/equip do we need to bring ?
What input is needed, do we need to be a specialist at anything ?
Do you need names in order to establish numbers of helpers or can we just turn up ?
Which biscuits are Mikes faves - I know about him needing a coffee fix regularly

    Many thanks indeed

    Where do we begin?
Christine Nisbett, BBC, is the one dishing out the jobs. You could contact her. I will PM her email.
    She decides days and chores.
    Don't think you need tools.
Guess they have the specialists. She muttered elf en safety to me.
Don't think just turning up to work would be sensible. Filming in progress and all that.
Most of us are planning a great weekend for the reveal on the 18th. A lot of us where possible are making a Thursday to Sunday party of it.
You don't need to sign up for that, book a B&B and just turn up.

As to Mike Fave biscuit you would have to ask him.

    Hello radarjet! :)

You are welcome to do anything you want, either to offer your labour for a day or so between the 9th and 18th, or just to turn up and see the finished project on the morning (probably) of the 18th. It's best not to just turn up as it's a construction site and closed to the public for legal reasons unless they're expected.

Best to send a note with your contact details and availability and mention any relevant skills to christine.nisbet@bbc.co.uk. She will let you know what's needed and when. If you PM me your mobile number I'll send it to one or two of the girls and you can locate them nearer the time.

I don't think you need to bring anything. Let Christine know if you have any specialist skills such as tea-making A-Levels, welding, painting, staring admiringly at hunky celebrities, whatever.

Mike likes jaffa cakes and chocolate digestives, and takes lots of milk and three sweeteners. Sadly he won't be anywhere within 5 miles of the house for the entire period and he has had to promise not to sneak past for a quick peep... even in the middle of the night. :(

    Evening all,

Aylana, we need to be careful about naming and shaming due to libel and defamation claims. A website would be excellent though. I was thinking maybe there could be a section of "Most NOT Wanted" where all those who have already been outed by various tv shows could have a profile. Maybe we could research the older ones and find out what they're up to now - keep them honest! lol I thought by using those who have already been "outed" there is less likelihood of us falling foul of libel/defamation claims as it's already been said by the tv company. *Note to self: Do a law degree on Slander (lol).

    Poo

Good point Poo and some good ideas. Still it is only libel if you are stating things you have no evidence of as far as I know. If things were worded carefully like "Mr Cowboy Builder was paid by Mrs M T Bank on X/X/X and as of the current date the work has not been completed." Then surely that would be an entirely factual statement that visitors to a website could draw their own conclusions from ? ;)

I might be wrong on that of course but if we can find someone who knows more about it then it can be gotten around I am sure!

I like the idea of keeping an eye on the older ones too though, no doubt a lot of them go back to their old ways! After all, it is profitable for them.

    Aylana xx
