Still haven't quite got this cotton wool. It was so the mouse wouldn't get hurt, right?

No, so he couldn't see the hammer coming . Although unlikely as he only had one eye. Well, one in the socket and one on his cheek _pale_

MSE Martin says, "Wonderful news - we'll try and do something on the show to celebrate :)" and then, "Did I say show I meant site"

I had enthused as to the community spirit of MSE and the hard work of both Mike and every-one who is involved in this thread (be you a poster or a lurker - we know you're out there ;)) and reminded him he posted on page 6 and let him know events to date. I also asked, if he had any time at all, that he might pop in on us - though I'm sure we all appreciate he - and every-one else at MSE towers - is hugely busy and may not manage that.

But he's as chuffed as we all are Mike :D.

Excellent Niccatw  - after all, if not for him...

Gallygirl, I think you're frightening the locals away! (You can't scare me, I have kids.) You seem to have succeeded in scaring away Neville too!

Have you got a date(s) yet for the parties? :j:j.
Also it's fantastic you are getting your house done (I can't quite believe it) but how are you going to stop this builder ripping other people off in the future? Hmmmm.

Neville seems to be having a few days away. He missed today's meeting with Mark and Julia off the telly asking me questions and measuring up.

I had to answer lots of questions about my fave colours, finishes, music, and what were the boys' favourites? What do we each like doing? If I could have anything in the house what would it be? What is my ideal kitchen like? (!) What things would I most like to see when I open my eyes at the big reveal?

(It's like someone is planning o give me a hugely extravagant present. Do I take it or... )

I told them I was very happy with an offcut of carpet I was given a couple of weeks ago, but if they insist, stainless steel range cookers and American fridge/freezers are good, as is polished travertine flooring throughout, oak and glass staircases, curved high gloss kitchen units, and a few other things!

Then I had to go for a walk for half an hour while they talked about what they might do. They say although it's only a telly prog, they still want it to be a genuine surprise...

I had quite a few questions about what happens next, and later and the answer is - I'll be told. Apparently there's a team that arranges everything from removals through to what days I and/or the boys/friends/other interviewees are needed, and where, and for what. I can expect calls from the project managers to start in a week or so, and will be phoned several times a week. I will give them contact details of people who are willing to help out in any way, or be interviewed, and they love the idea of lots of MSEers being here for the big reveal on the last day!

I have to promise not to torture the boys to tell me what's been going on if they've been here during the day or out being filmed. They are happy to 'employ' the boys for the week if they want to help out. They film every day at the house.

They were really nice and it's all fun, but they are serious about the secrecy and the details and coming up with a result that is really what I want and would have chosen.

As you can imagine, I am feeling quite weird!

So tomorrow is the first meeting with the council's planning and building regs people, and on Friday the buildings inspector is here. Woop de doo.

All hands on deck then... apart from maybe yours ;)! Plenty time to sit on the beech, look out onto the sea and muse over the powerful enegies that keeps the world moving.

Do you think maybe Neville was miffed that you didn't want a shaker style country kitchen and that's why he's taken off?

Just popping through, your post on the visit sounds fantastic. I have been saving some lilac voiles but it sounds like you won't need them :D This is an amazing result and I really am so pleased for you.

I showed my OH your OneShow video and told him about your thread and he asked when we were going to your house and with what.

When your house is done and you are due to be on TV can you get the local papers interested in the fact you were featured and give your builder a bit more bad publicity?
