Morning all. I'm a long time lurker here but have been away and recently caught up with the thread. It's the first time I've actually seen the name of the builder and I immediately PM'ed Mike!
My family have been planning to move to Horsham in the next few years to be closer to DH's job and we were looking to renovate or build from scratch. Bridle was recommended to us  (I must stress the person who recommended him used him a fair while ago and, I'm pretty sure, has no idea he's such a complete scumbag!)
What Mike's done by posting his name in the public forum I can NEVER thank him for enough. :T I just wanted everyone to know that

New series of DIY SOS with a new format but Mike isn't featured in this series.
They are considering him for later and will hopefully be visiting his house in a couple of weeks to take a look!
He's level 2!...........Anyone know what that means?????
Good news is that 3 shows are considering his story and his house for a makeover!! :T
If we're really lucky, one will include shaming the builder!

I think you've had a very lucky escape honey!
I Can't believe the man is still taking or quoting private jobs and it took a lot of effort on Mikes part to get his name out there, I'm sure the git will carry on ruining lives and homes until the law stops him!PROUD MEMBER OF

Hello!!!
Ive just been having a quick read of some of these posts and flppin heck Mike!!!
If none of these work, how about contacting a college of some kind to get the students to come and renovate for you the bits that they can? I saw it on Country House rescue and the students need the "real life" practice and you need the work done...
Good Luck with everything though and hope it gets sorted out really soon x0 -

Good news on two fronts...
Spoke to the executive producer of DIY SOS a few minutes ago and he says he's interested, needs to know more, but it won't be for the series they're filming currently and would be some months away if they covered it at all.
He had nearly 100 emails from you and said how polite and supportive everyone was.
He liked the MSE forumistas support aspect and needs to think how that can be worked in.
He is escalating the project to Level 2 (don't ask me) but that means he will ask a researcher and a builder to come here in a couple of weeks and look round, measure up etc.
He stressed it may well not go ahead, but he wants to know more and likes the sound of the whole thing.
SO THAT IS WORTH A PAT ON THE BACK FOR EVERYONE HERE! GOOD FOR YOU!
Then...
I had an email from another programme  I was talking to weeks ago that went all quiet on me. The person dealing with it had moved on and a new guy has picked it up and is interested in knowing more. I've resent the info he needs. I have no idea what happens next or when, if at all. But it's better than I expected, having more or less accepted they weren't responding. I hope to speak to him soon and he wants to send someone down to have a look.
If both are interested, that's a problem I will be happy to have. It will all sort itself out one way or another.
Hey - this is seriously good news, huh?
Your support helped me keep going long enough to contact these two, and the letters to DIY SOS obviously did the job you intended. Take a bow, everyone. People power + internet might = fewer of these thieves getting away with it, and maybe one day the law will be tightened up. It's obviously a bigger problem than anyone thought.
I'm not looking at curtain material samples yet, but knowing that people at the very top in television think what you've all done is remarkable makes me feel very good and proud to know you, and it's another step towards pinning a big one on Paul Bridle, from Horsham, West Sussex RH12 3LG.
Thank you. Have a good evening, everyone. Mr Bridle, just do your best, and enjoy all the free publicity for you and your business which is on its way.
Mike x

Mike ,
I am just thrilled to read about all this latest GOOD news coming your way at last.
Its great to hear you had over 100 emails sent and that it made a difference.
I like that the producer is trying to tie it in with the forum support.
Not only will you be 'made good' but also I'm sure Martin won't turn away that sort of commendation that the programme will bring this site, so we may have lots of new MSE'ers who can join together to perhaps help support someone else currently in a bad place who just needs a helping shove and hug to get them on their feet.
Looking forward to the next installment.0 -

This is amazing, and to a certain extent shows exactly what the thread is capable of.
