Mike, I thought the program was good and shared your story perfectly. I just wished there was a happy ending......like them using their resources to get your house put back together again. I'm glad they named and shamed him and I can't believe he has 5 ccj's against him. What is the point of winning a ccj against anyone and they aren't forced to pay it?

Thanks so much for giving me the info.

How are things going on the force of sale stage? Have you gone to court yet to see what can be done? Is there a way all those with the ccj's against him can go into a class action suit to force a sale to pay all owed?

Always in my thoughts dear, you're well overdue for some good news.

    Awww, aren't you nice!

The force of sale is the next cab off the rank. We've adopted a policy on the thread of not discussing details until after something has happened as we know there will be people watching this now that it's on Google. Everything's lined up though and looking very good. Some information has come to light which will blow any arguments he might have been hoping to rely on out of the water. I can say no more!

Poo, you should read this... I don't want you getting in trouble next time you find money on the street ;)

Thanks for that Nic. To be honest, I would have given the money back, ALL of it! I can't imagine how that poor guy would have felt upon realising his life's savings were all gone, that kind of a shock is enough to kill a person!

I've always been very funny about coming by money in such a fashion. I'm not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination but there's just something about that saying:

God giveth and God taketh away.

I've found a fiver and a tenner before and each time I've bought a lottery ticket with the thought that I'd split any winnings 50/50 with a charity. I can't even win the lottery with thoughts of good intentions!

I don't think I'm going to get my collar felt any time soon through picking up the odd coin off the street but thanks for the warning. I'll think of you when I find my next street treasure.

I don't think 'God' or the universal force will be stopped if it decides you need some money, by something as minor as your not having bought a lotto ticket.

Having said that, one doesn't wish to be seen as obstructive...

Hi Mike and good evening to one and all.

Here's my twopenn'th worth on the Production Company strand of this thread. I may be reading it wrong but as I understand NID's post is:

Rather than trying to get them to take on Mike's cause to include in an up and running series, maybe they could film enough for a whole programme with a view to creating a new series or maybe a one off documentary type programme like Horizon or Dispatches where they could go into more detail about a certain aspect, whether that's the failings of the Courts or the Cowboy Builder side.

I know nothing about production companies or if they are affiliated to any one channel (and so unable to produce programmes which they can sell to other channels). Maybe herein lies a (the) problem. It's been done on the BBC. Maybe approaching an independant production company to make a one off programme could be a way to go, but this could take a very long time for the company to find, say six, good causes to film a whole programme on for them to then sell the series to a channel. Otherwise, you may strike lucky and be just the kind of cause that someone is looking for.

Hmmm... maybe something worth thinking about there. I'll give it some more thought.

    See you soon.

SB honey, you need to keep in mind that you are not the one that is conused. Every-one else is confused an you are merely on a higher plane so they can't keep up with you :D.

Poo - you'll be horrified to know then, that I once made my mum do an emergency stop in a supermarket car park as I saw a £10 note fluttering by in the wind (I never saw any distaught looking people nearby). I certainly didn't buy lottery tickets with it (it happened to be the morning of my brother's wedding - the money was spent in the blink of an eye!).
