I would love to send a message to Mr Knight, but I don't feel i've followed this thread enough to be able to compose an email. Would somebody be prepared to put together a paragraph (or a couple of different ones) for me to send? I have several email addresses, and several family member ones I have access to which I would be more than happy to flood Mr Knights inboxes with tomorrow could probs commit myself to 30 emails :).

    No problem

Just send a normal e-mail to Mr Simon Knight directly at

    info@knightandknight.com

and think of a subject line that will catch his eye, then put a couple of words in the subject as to how you'd like him to choose The Dolls' House, West Sussex, for a feature in DIY-SOS or The Big Build.

Feel free to copy me in at onthecoastnow@live.co.uk so we have some idea how many people emailed him.

    Thanks

    Mike

    Good Evening Mr Knight

I trust you will take five minutes to hear of a project, that I am sure is what you are looking for: The Dolls House, Littlehampton is a delightful 18th Century cottage which from the outside looks a picture. Take one step inside and that all changes. However, the interior is not the work of an incompetent owner, but that of a builder who should have known better. Paul Bridle is the builder in question and he has conned the owner of this period cottage, together with many others, into believing that he will undertake the work quoted and paid for, but has demolished the interior and left Mike, the owner, penniless and living in a hovel.

Mike’s health and family life has suffered and if the support of friends could magic a change that would have happened a long time ago. Due to the amount of damage his builder has done, Mike has been financially ruined and has developed a strong legal case on from his own novice hands. The Dolls house is not a project that Mike has taken on to make a quick buck, but more of a investment to his future, somewhere after a long hard professional life he is able to take things slowly and enjoy time with his family, thanks to this man, this desire is a far distant future. Mike will hopefully get his day in Court and have this rogue pay up and be made to change his ways.

In the meantime, The Doll’s House is crying out for your team to take a look and decide this is one for you, I certainly feel it is.

I do hope that you will be able to help Mike - I certainly know his friends, me included would if we could.

    With hopeful thanks.

My email to him, hope thats ok :) I added little snippets myself from the msg you sent me Mike.

And no poblem at all, if I was able to get my magic wand and give you the solution it would be done by now :)

For those of you worrying about what to write... short and sweet is grand.

It's be sensible to put "The Dolls House, Littlehamton" in the subjest line, I'd say.

In the actualy message you just need to say you would like to support Mike's application and heve been folowing his thread here, were horrified by the conditions you saw when you eagerly tuned into The One Show, that you don't feel justice has been served and it is Mike and his family who are suffering as thye are currently not in a postion financially to change the situation. This is where DIY SOS could help... you'd love to tune in... that kind of thing...

Please be polite and remember to thank the team for taking the time to read your email!

I hope that helps any-one who's been feeling stuck.

If anybody is interested, some possible tag lines are ( I have used all three :) ):
    The Broken dolls house.
The not quite so dreamy dolls house.
    The broken seaside dream.

    And some I didn't use:
"Mans seaside dream turns into living hell"
"Why never to trust a builder"
