Hi, would it cost you to apply for the sal or not ? If not, is it worth giving it a go anyway, as each case is different ??0

I think it would be since anyone on benefits gets their court fees remitted. It's more that I want to do everything I can to make it acceptable to the judge before sending it off.
Also to try and get a cascade thang where if the sale is denied, the judge can go straight on to the attachment of earnings application.
No hang on - that's sensible. They won't permit it...0 -

Just read the thread from start to finish.
Can't believe our legal system sometimes! What a joke, I'd definitely complain about the judge! They live in cloud cuckoo land!
Also wanted to say - my hubby and I are renovating a house at the moment, we have lots of expert DIY experience and when you feel ready - gimme a PM and I'll be more than happy to donate a day's DIY from both of us to you!
We can plumb, do carpentry, lay floors, plaster, paint and landscape between us.
Hubby can also do electrics (lighting, sockets etc) but obviously for safeties sake I wouldn't let him do yours as he's not P1 qualified and I believe you have to be nowadays.
Please keep an eye out on freecycle, if this post had been here a few months ago I could have donated 3 UPVC windows and 5 internal doors
Ppl are always willing to help a good cause
xx
Good luck Mike!0 -
Also wanted to say - if you decide to take us up on our offer - we'll bring what we can supplies wise. We have lots of tools, and lots of wood, skirting, coving, plaster etc left over0

Hey Mike
I'm so annoyed at myself, thought I'd got hobnobs, but they are ginger nuts! Bah!
Have you had any word from the press?
I think your letters today are good. Still say all you need them to, but are more reasoned that the original letter - though completely understand the sentiments of the first letter!!!
As I keep saying; you've a fab sense of humour! It'll help you through - and we'll do all we can to help you hang on to it!

Shhhhh... That's all behind me now!
I sent messages to loads of media types last week and they're starting to drift in. Had message that The One Show want to know more, a couple of papers.. and it's still Monday!
And a call via a message I sent to a Chamber of Commerce suggested to me here. A lady builder called, had been roughly where I am (but was ripped off by a customer). She's coming next week to see what she can do. I didn't expect that one! Strange because she's had depression and knows the law and gets leftovers from jobs. How weird is that?
Also a call back from the Trading Standards bods. They're looking at the case and sound pretty good. If they discover criminal activity they contact the police and handle all that too.0
