Glad you all had a fab time, Mike! Are you over the MSG poisoning yet?
I have just sent DD to America for a few weeks so you have my sympathy! Mind you, it's now less than 2 weeks till you see yours again, isn't it? And counting...

Thanks Miggy. It was a great weekend. I am feeling completely flat today and yesterday so excuse the lack of sparkle.

Oooh, America's a long way away! Bet you miss her already!

Well, I have TWO purple hats, so there (thumbs nose). But no cats. However I do have two dogs. And three ex-battery hens called Rita, Mavis and Deidre. Can I join the premature ageing crazies group please? :rotfl:

Actually no, I have three purple hats - a fleecy one, a velvet one and a cotton one. I also have two green hats. He he I am winning in the hat stakes! I've never tried to wear them all at once though. Woneder what would happen if I did ......

However I don't have any stilettos. As I'm only 4ft 8 it would be a hopeless case anyway, and I'd probably get vertigo .....

April 22nd, Mike - is that a special day or something?

I'm a Scorpio .... do you want me to come down and sting your nasty builder for you?;)

OOOOO - can everyone keep their fingers and toes crossed please? We have made an offer on a house to rent. Eeeee. Letting agents haven't managed to get hold of Landlord yet but we offered what they wanted so fingers crossed. It's about 200 metres from where we are now and almost next door to where we lived 5 months ago. After looking for 3 week and finding nothing as well!

Also I saw some workman today and was really, really impressed. They had coned off a busy junction but had it exceptionally well managed - they were martially the traffice around the junction, they had temporary traffic lights that were working and everybody was busy scuttling around getting the road resurfaced as quick as humanly possible - very strange, I thought I was seeing things or it was April the 1st or something - I even watched them for 10 minutes while waiting for the bus I was sooooo shocked.
    See you later.

Got everything crossed, so don't keep us waiting with the good news or things might go blue and drop off.

    Again.

Hi all and Belle, I still lurk on the thread from time to time but have just lost the will to live right now. Its the second time the insurance company have been back to fix the drain and its still crap. I cant get anyone to come and quote me for work (to put a new bathroom in) nor to do any small jobs and even the tradesmen I have found have a bloody slack attitude as to when they will come and do work. I am just not used to working with people with this mentality. Somehow, I think I had better get used to it. I am very pi55ed off.

    But Poo - I found a penny!!!!

Excuse me redlady, you can't talk about crap builders here you know....

Sorry you're feeling bad Mike. It must feel like walking up the escalator the wrong way, but less fun, and doesn't keep you fit.
Think of the car tax as a means to spending time with the boys, if it helps. Also trips to the dentist I guess, but you don't want to focus on that.
If you are in a mood for heartening talk, the DIY skills you gain will save you the cost of the builder, and a penny saved is a penny earned, etc.
On the other hand, if you are not in the mood for heartening talk, you can hit the computer very hard with a cushion and pretend it's me. I can take it. :D and anyway I'm off to work in a minute so you won't get me. :D:D:D

Absolutely with you on the escalator/treading water thing. But almost everyone on here has the same problem. The income needs a nought on the end and the outgoings need the decimal point moved one to the left. Then we'd all be happy. Or would we?

I haven't been really angry since a particular day during the divorce, this is mildly irritated. Depression is anger without enthusiasm. I think a few of us on here are a tad depressed. But if the sun ever reappears that will be a good start.

(Ooooh! Listen to HER! Right little Pollyanna tonight! Wonder where SHE'S been all day!)

Depression group and then took a friend with a broken toe shopping and to collect her daughter from school. What a wild exciting life I do lead!

Ahh yes but if you didn't have the backdated benefit you couldn't afford to get the car taxed or the other bits sorted.
It does sound like things are progressing - re work, seeing the boys etc. The tv show may throw up some interesting results, etc , etc although it is rather slow for you though.
What stage are you at re the builder lady showing you how to do it yourself or did that fall through? or do you need money for materials? am a bit behind - sorry.
    df

She's hovering over my shoulder ready to wade in. I have to do the building regs paperwork first, and set up the planning meeting. Frankly I'd rather eat a sock.

Maybe I will feel motivated tomorrow? Who knows?

I'll try. I've got to take the dogs out first thing so I will have to get up and out.

    Deep joy.

It is now, you smooth talker, you!

Just my birthday. Which I will celebrate, as usual, with a sausage with a candle in it.

    Maybe a glass of Tizer.
