I give up... it's the thought that counts, I'll just keep it for myself... it was a B&O audio system... Beoliving. Nice! But, as I said, a b*gger to st up!

Though I gather it's set up deliberately in such a way as to have most females storming off in their Jimmy Choos, demanding the male species to sort it out. That's a very clever design! :D

And we stroll in nonchalantly, hit two buttons and voila...

But that's not enough... we also have to rub it in with that timeless remark...

"Is that what you were trying to do dear?"

    Taurean Traits

    Patient and reliable
    Warmhearted and loving
    Persistent and determined
    Placid and security loving

In their work, Taurus are industrious and good craftspeople, and are not afraid of getting their hands dirty.

They are reliable, practical, methodical and ambitious. They are at their best in positions of trust and responsibility.

Yet they are creative and good founders of enterprises where the rewards of their productiveness come from their own work and not that of others.

They are gentle, even tempered, good natured, modest and slow to anger.

The characteristics of taurus are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and strength of will.

They are stable, balanced, conservative good, law-abiding citizens and lovers of peace.

    Hi you mad bunch.

Been reading for a week or so now, enjoying your banter in adversity. Fortunately not a DFW, usually on the OS thread, but await with interest the One Show Report. Tonight I needed something to make me smile, the reference to the Jimmy Choos, with a size 8 very wide fitting foot - boy would I love to be able to get my feet in those.

My dear Dad was a Taurean, and showed many of those characteristics, tomorrow is his funeral, a blessing in many ways as he had serious dementia, almost blind, almost deaf and bedridden for the last couple of years, he would have been 90 in May. Unfortunately for me he has not been there to talk to for 7 years now, and I still miss talking to him, and getting his wise advice, even though I am nearer 60 than anything else.

Sorry to taking you off topic, but hope that you get all your dodgy builders, etc., sorted and thanks for the banter which made me smile.

    Hi you!

Thanks for dropping in. I hope the funeral goes as well as these things can. You're probably feeling lonely tonight but your message will have made many of us think about our own losses in the past, and remember those people with a smile about something they did before those dark years led to an unsatisfying end for the people round them.

A lot of people will read this before the morning, and all of them will without thinking about it wish you a good and comforting day.

DG, we'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Dementia is such a difficult illness for family and friends to deal with. I know it's not easy and I hope tomorrow you get the chance to celebrate and remember your dad as you want to remember him. You'll always have the memories of your talks. And, given the Taurean traits, I'm sure you could always hazard a guess at what he might say in given situations; rolling his eyes at lack of a common sense approach, that "extreme determination" at getting things done (probably his way, not your way!) but always there if you need some-one to walk the dogs at 5am or jump on a trampoline with the kids. Take care x
