Teens are getting taller

I certainly agree that youngsters are getting taller - I am 6' exactly and was always taller than both girls and the boys at school - DH is 6'4 and our son who turned 18 before christmas is now just 6' 7" and hopefully not growing too much more - although partly thanks to his height he is a fantastic swimmer and has just reached the 2nd round of fast tracking by sports england for rowers for Rio 2016 - so some advantages can be found. His main complaint is that he finds it almost impossible to find trousers that fit his 30" waist - you need to be plumper to be a tall man in this country - so normally get loads of clothes, shoes and in particular socks when in the states - thank goodness DH works at Heathrow and we can access some travel discountsFibro-Warrior0

Isn't each generation supposed to gain an average 1 inch ? My Mum was about 5 foot 4, but used to think of herself as quite tall. She used to say I was short, even though I was the same height as her.
I have the opposite problem to some posters re childrens clothes. Everything I buy for my 2 youngest comes up miles too long although they are average height. My DD ,10 next month is only just now fitting into some of her age 7-8 clothes.
My eldest son is 10 years of age and he is wearing aged 9 trousers and they are huge on the waist. Had to have several extra holes put into his belt so they would fit. Both my boys are small for their age but they both have allergy problems too, on steroids etc so that can be affecting them too I guess.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
everybody thought my mum was tall at 5' 8" and size 8 feet
then along came me, who grew and grew, and stopped at 6' 3" size 10 feet
then along came my sons, who are catching me up fast, at 14 years old, they are 6' 1" and size 15 feet, they've been in adult shoes since 6 years of age, and adult clothing since about 10 year old. trouble is finding trouser lengths long enough, and finding trainers large enough, they've even outgrown brantano's so need specialist shoe manufacturers and cost a fortuneenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0
