    I'm 5'10'', DH is 5'11''.
DS1 is 18 and is 6'3'' and loves being tall.
DD is 12 and 6'2''. She hates it and blames me completely. What can i do??....
  • If this is the case I do hope the clothes manufacturers catch up quick!!
    DS1 (17)is 6 '2.5"
    DS2 (13) is 5'11" (eek)
Their dad is 6'4.5", and then there's little old 5'4" me.:)

All of them have trouble getting trousers to fit, and as long legs usually = long arms, fashion shirts and jumpers are out for OH and Ds1. If the youth are getting taller why do shops stop making trousers with a longer than 34" leg, and even then they assume the wearer has a 34" or bigger waist! DS1 needs a 28W/34-35L but almost nowhere sells this size.
    Retailers, please read this thread!!

    It's only a game

Is it that there feet are big or are shoe sizes getting slightly smaller ,
I wear clarks shoes ( only buy them in the sales though ) and over the last few years i've gone from a size 6 to a size 8 in a shoe , At age 38 i doubt my feet are growing
  • My DS is 15 and 6'2 I have trouble buying clothes for him and have to pay tax on school uniform as need to buy mens trousers, shirts etc
Remember every waking moment is a chance to turn it all around.;) Knowledge is the key to respect.

  • I wish someone would tell that to my daughters then! Hubby and I are both only 5.5' so they were never going to be that tall, but DD1 age 16 is still only 5.3' and DD2 age 12 is still only diddy, probably not even 5' yet! They blame their dad......

I feel tiny in comparison to most people these days! I am 5'1" with size 4 feet and my dh is 5'8 which is considered short for a bloke now too. My parents are the same height as we are , and as my dh is adopted we dont know what genes he has to pass on iyswim! Our ds1 is 13 and 5'9 with size 9-10 feet! He towers over me and is growing at such a rate of knotts that he is convinced I am shrinking lol! He picks me up all the time and pats me on the head...bless him. He is one of the youngest in his year being born in july but taller than most of his friends who are 14 almost 15.
On the other hand my dd is 11 and 4'8 (size 4 feet so I borrow her boots lol!) and I am really hoping she is going to grow taller than me (I stopped growing at 13). Ds2(9) is tiny in comparison to his big brother and is a lot shorter than ds1 was at the same age! But he is bang on average according to growth charts for boys.
I am trying not to worry about it too much but hope they will all be quite tall compared to us grown ups lol!
Its about time the clothes and shoe makers caught up with the kids...having to buy mens 32" leg jeans for a boy is not cheap...neither are mens shoes and football boots!
