Three leftover doughnuts

I bought a bag of 5 Asda Custard doughnuts yesterday - reduced and needing eating up. I ate two of them, but they aren't the most fantastic tasting I've ever tried - the coating is icing sugar rather than sugar, and, amazing though it sounds , I don't think I can face eating the other three as they are at the moment
(if you knew me, you'd keel over at me turning up my nose at food!!!!:rotfl: )
So, I was wondering what to do with them? I thought about some kind of bread and butter pudding, or , well, anything really. I've got some sultanas, and some milk, sugar and flour, but no eggs, butter or cream. I could get some bits later but wondered what anyone else would do? as there are 'only' three,I might need to bulk it out a bit to fill even my smallest dish - I've got a small flan dish that would probably be the best one to use.
Any ideas??
The word 'chocolate' just came into my head, so maybe a chocolate pudding in some way..........but that could just be me wanting chocolate generally!!! :rotfl:

Chuck em out for the birds!!!
They don't sound very nice. When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
How about a concoction involving bananas, icecream and chocolate shavings? Slice the banana lengthways and arrange on a plate. Halve the doughnuts and place alongside the banana. Then a scoop of icecream on top and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. The doughnuts will still taste the same though!Context is all.

well, I now have butter, cream and eggs fromthe shop as well as sugar and sultanas. (oh, and a packet of chocolate buttons!)
I can't bear throwing them out!!
I don't have any bananas or icecream at the moment.
I just thought maybe it I cooked them in some way they might improve.
they aren't horrible, just very heavy tasting.
I might experiment with a bread and butter recipe.0 -
That's what I'd do.oakdale_minx wrote:I might experiment with a bread and butter recipe.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
Just googled "what to do with doughnuts" and got a list of boyracer sites :rotfl:
Or how about a trifle, with the doughnuts as the base? Maybe make mini-trifles from the individual doughnuts.Context is all.

okey dokey this is what i'm going to do, it's all very approximate!
3 doughnuts
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2-3 oz sugar
packet of chocolate buttons
handful of sultanas
1/2 big tub of double cream.
i'm going to butter my flan dish, chop the doughnuts into quarters and arrange inthe dish.
Add the cream, egg, egg yolk and sugar together and pour over.
sprinkle on the sultanas
Push the chocolate buttons between the pieces of doughnut.
Put in a bain marie and cook for probably around 45 minutes or so.0 -

I Do that with some0 -
well, it's all in the dish. I was surprised that it filled the flan dish reallywell with just three doughnuts chopped into about 10 pieces.
I've put it in the fridge to soak for an hour.......and only about 5 chocolate buttons 'fell' into my mouth..........honest......:p0 -
