    Hi you guys :D:D:D

Yeah they didn't go badly... :) I'm keeping fingers crossed I've done enough. I really worked my !!! off for the exams and despite being shunned by all but two of the academics in my dept, I think it should be enough to get through to next year. I needed to pass 2 and get over 20% in the other 4. My coursework marks mean I've already got over 20% already in most modules so really it was a case of plucking 20% from the exam. Of course my attitude was to do as well as I could, but at the same time I did concentrate on 3 modules and hopefully it paid off.

Thanks for your support everyone. You all kept me positive and one user in particular was really really really really really helpful to me. You know who you are! :kisses3: :D

They say that each exam paper is marked by the module coordinator then checked by another lecturer  and I'm not in a position to challenge it at the moment!

It's annoying because if I'd scored 6% more then I'd be through to the third year now with no resits at all

Just so you know, you have every right to view your now-marked exams papers by requesting it through your uni's/college's freedom of information department. You can't take the papers away but you can makes notes on a notepad that you can challenge with the lecturers later.

I didn't know that - I asked the secretary and was told we can't see the scripts.

Well then that changes everything. Would they make a copy of the scripts under FOI?

Cheers anyhow that isn't something I was aware of. Is there a fee for it? :o

you may find that, as exams, there are very few comments on the papers, just an overall mark. so you may not get much feedback from it, but you look at your original answers and see what you think of them now....

it depends on the lecturers i suppose - all my exams were marked with notes which i found very helpful. i definately agree, even if there are no notes, it's good to see what you've written. often in exams, the adrenaline's rushing and you forget structure, grammar and the fundamental knowlege so it's always good to look at previous exams and assess your technique and how it can be improved.
  • Spaceage...I got the same response...we weren't allowed to see the exams. Asked at student services and yes, the freedom of information department in the institution holds all the exams for your viewing
