Similarly speced vehicles on autotrader and ebay. Do you think it's too high? I've made it clear I'm open to offers in the add. Maybe I should drop it to £4500 :s

Seems a bit high to me for a private quick sale, many similar for that figure or less from dealers.

Does it have full BMW service history? that could have an effect on it's value.

Drop the price in the add to £4,500, no offers, priced for quick sale. Then be prepared to drop it to £4,200, if they look like they might walk away.

Personally I would not expect to get a car listed at £5,200 for £4,200 in a private sale, so I think you may be putting off some potential purchasers. No harm in doing this as I suspect selling it to a trader will require a very hefty discount.

I've sold cars in your price range successfully via eBay. Put it on either with a starting price of £4k or a reserve of 4.2 starting at 99p.

Are companies like webuyanycar etc... worth it?

I wouldn't even bother looking at webuyanycar. If you actually want to get near market value for your car they're no good. I tried them with my old car (worth around £1,200 at the time) and they quoted £275 :rotfl:

    Not unexpectedly I might add.

Plus I would have had to pay to get the car up to them. Intrigued by this I started putting random cars into their system just to see how low they would go with hilarious results. My mates old Volvo (Worth approx £900) they quoted £20. I think to actually get near the £100k price they theoretically claim to pay you'd have to be trading a Bugatti Veyron or something.

They're like the cash4gold companies - for people so desperate for money they'll ditch their stuff at any price just to get some coin.

Or indeed cash converters whilst I'm on the subject! Or 'The house of broken dreams' as I call it. They offered me £12 for my minidisc player (was worth around £150, back when minidiscs were still predicted to take off). I saw some phot frames in there once, priced at 50p and I thought how desperate the person must have been and what kind of pittance cash converters gave them for their photo frames. Depressing :(

Advert price now dropped to £4500. Cheers for the tip JQ :)

MX5, I think I will end up putting it on ebay if I have no other luck with the other options. If I put a reserve on it I gues there's nothing to loose.

You can list it on eBay as a classified fixed price sale.

    Many dealers use that facility.

Yes has full BMW service history. Last service was Inspection 1. Oil service isn't due for another 9k miles.

I'm watching a few on ebay at the moment too that finish soon so I can guage what price they go for.

By no means the first one! I've been waiting for one for a couple of months now. I'm after a facelift 330ci clubsport. Has to be in estoril blue, and has to have grey leather interior. There were only ever 80 estoril blue's released in the UK, and only 12 of those came with grey leather. This ones got good miles and is exactly what I'm after :) Annoyed that I didn't try selling my car sooner now, but I didn't know how long it would be until one came along.

So there are only 12 cars with this spec in the UK.

If I was that desperate. I would arrange the finance to buy the new car and buy it. Then use the proceeds from the old car to pay off part of the finance. I presume it is a private sale.
