Advice needed on quick car sale
Options
Hi everyone,
I'm in one of those pickles where I've seen a car for sale, and I need rid of mine quick to pay for the new one. What are everyones recomendations for best way to sell the car? It's a 318ci with 51k miles. Half leather interior, years mot, 9 months tax. It's up for £5200 at the moment but on the advert I've made it very clear I'm open to offers.
Are companies like webuyanycar etc... worth it?
Do garges buy cars of you even if you aren't buying one of them?
Should I consider ebay, or do they normally go for pennies?
I'm happy to let the car go for under it's value, but not by too much.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all :j

Gaz, have a look here mate, you may be better off trying to trade your existing Beemer in.

I reckon this mob are similar to ones who try to buy gold off people, they rely on desperation to mug people.
I wouldn't mind a nice Beemer for around £5K, but I couldn't stump up the cash at the moment.
Good luck,

webuyanycar only good for cars worth < 1k which are hard to shift.0

Yes, some do, however expect to be offered a pittance for it.
What year is the car?
The quickest way to sell a car is via a Motor Auction, however you will get a low price and high auction charges.
I was a bit surprised to say the least, when I went along to my local ADT auction a month ago. There were very few cars compared with last year (around 75 compared to over 200), and the prices seemed to be on the high side. You do have to factor in seller's commission if you sell a car at auction, but nice, clean top of the range models sell quickly.0 -
It's a 2002 (51) reg.
After reading that webuyanycar thread it doesn't sound like they'd actually offer anything like what they offered on the website. I guess I'll just have to go round some garages on Thursday (day off) and see if any of them are interested. I think this could be a long struggle.
It's up for sale at £5200 at the moment but I'm willing to take anywhere from £4200 upwards really as I'm quite desperate for the saleI'll see what some garages ssay

You should at least give webuyanycar a go.
Most complaints are people who want maximum value for there car on the spot. You are clearly happy to sell at a lower price for a quick sale. I.e the sort of people they are aiming for.0 -
Yes I'll still go down for an appointment. They say they only take 20 minutes so won't take much time out of my day. Worst they can do is offer me silly money and I say no I guess. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0

Come on Gaz you've been here long enough to know not to just drop everything and buy the first one you see.
What is it?
Why is it the only one you'll ever be able to get?
Take a couple of deep breaths, mate.;)0 -
Where did you get the £5200 starting price figure from?0

By no means the first one! I've been waiting for one for a couple of months now. I'm after a facelift 330ci clubsport. Has to be in estoril blue, and has to have grey leather interior. There were only ever 80 estoril blue's released in the UK, and only 12 of those came with grey leather. This ones got good miles and is exactly what I'm afterAnnoyed that I didn't try selling my car sooner now, but I didn't know how long it would be until one came along.

Similarly speced vehicles on autotrader and ebay. Do you think it's too high? I've made it clear I'm open to offers in the add. Maybe I should drop it to £4500This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0
