after months of 'being good' and not having any takeaways i was tempted back to ordering a dominos by way of the half price vouchers a few weeks ago. i had to do some serious haggling on the phone to get the order at the right price i had calculated it would come to and when the order came it was cold and late and the delivery chap had to go back and fetch the coke he had forgotten.

i didnt complain, i guessed it would be pointless. i wil simply never order from them again.

iceland are better and cheaper and guess what if you cook it yourself you get it warm when you are ready to eat and i bet its quicker too!

  • I cannot understand why anyone would order pizza in!? its not like ive never done it before, but when you can go to ASDA and even get someone to make you one with exactly what you want on it, for about £2-3 - sometimes less if there is a deal - and just bung it in the oven to exaclty how you like it cooked (i know some people that love really burnt/overcooked pizza, yuck!) Why would you pay up to £10 for a dissapointing pizza from pizza hut/dominos?...

If i am ever ordering it in, i always use a local pizzera,... much more generous toppings & SO much cheaper. Plus i think they depend on their service a little more,... they have never been late when ive used them.

I used Dominos for the first time a couple of weeks ago, using some 50% vouchers I had received in the post. (spend over £25, 50% off).

The order was ontime, food was hot, everything was as it should be.

The delivery guy also said we could keep the 50% off vouchers if we wanted to use them again.

I would not have paid the full price for what I ordered, but I think on the whole it was good.

I actually totally agree with this, we used to have a Domino's or Pizza Hut occasionally until we discovered ASDA's fresh made pizza's, to your liking. It cost's us £6 for two pizza's made how we want them (As we both like different toppings), when it used to cost anything up to £20 at Domino's or Pizza Hut.

While I wouldn't be too fussed if my Pizza turned up cold (always find it yummy microwaved ) I would be disappointed if it lacked toppings or it was burnt. Personally though, I have never had a problem from either Domino's or Pizza Hut. Still would choose ASDA over them now, for a night in anyway!

Also, screaming and shouting does not solve issues (just incase you do do that). If there were any rude customers to me (mistakes get made) I would note on their customer info that they are rude.

Thanks for the tip - as you're someone with a bit of inside knowledge, would you also be able to share the secret of how to get reasonable service out of some of the utter mongs who work at these places?

It's only that, it being a service-sector concern, one would really assume that service would be a high priority; in my experience, though - and clearly, the experience of many who've posted on this thread - this is sadly often not the case.

If you'd be able to help, it would be most appreciated.

Unfortuantely it depends completely who you get on the other side of the phone. Some of the people I worked with, well, were complete morons and didn't give 2 craps and I would find people complaining about them.

If you do ever order, and get someone nice on the phone, remember their name and ask for them in the future. I had that happen to me a number of times.

They are overpriced. If I'm going for a take out pizza, I would choose Pizza Hut, they seem to be cheaper and nicer in the long run. I reiterate though, if I'm staying in, ASDA all the way!

Domino,s opened a shop in our local town. I tried to order a delivery and was told we lived too far away. We live 3 miles away and approx travel time is at the most 10 mins!
Contacted their head office and the response was that the order would be cold by the time it arrived. Asked if the delivery was by pushbike?:(
Best bit is they deliver to the other side of the town and other areas 5 miles awayfromtheir local shop.
Manager who has since left said she was not allowed to deliver to our village because of postcode issues with other Dominos franchises.
    What issues?
The other two Dominos are both at least 16 miles away from where we live!
