That's exactly what I did for DH's 40th - bought him £40 of 'his' sweets.

However, brother is a healthly bod and doesn't eat 'rubbish'. He is very sporty and has all that stuff.

Maybe the most up to date IPOD from us all as he loves his music too. He and my sister bought me a Pandora Bracelet for my 40th and a charm with a diamond (albeit a small one) and I would love to get him something he can keep but not sure he would want a bracelet :rotfl:

We are having a surprise party for him at parents house so that won't cost too much..............

    I love the Pandora bracelets!

Is he watching the pennies too, maybe a window is what he really wants if he is, even if it's not very exciting lol!

He no longer has any debt............he cleared it a few years ago!

But he has no spare cash as his job isn't brilliantly paid so I guess it would help if we bought him windows..........however I have a feeling he may move soon as he seems loved up and his g/f has a house too.

That would be frustrating, maybe the iPod would be a safer bet!

    Morning Red

Did you have a nice afternoon in front of the fire yesterday?

It's raining here today and my dog is refusing to go out for a wee, might have to bribe him with some of my chocolate spread on toast!

Well done Reddie on the saving bag and I thoroughly advocate buying Christmas presents in advance as you save cos you get the chance to look at the best deals, don't have the stress or the panic, and end up getting better things than you otherwise might.

With regard to the present made out of lots of 'bits', you are right: these often cost more than buying one bigger item outright. Perhaps you could consider changing the style of present?
