This is a welcome measure, hope others follow suit, you could earn quite a bit from this but only once from each bank I fear.
Truth be told I'd rather they looked again at the lack of interest and the explosion of the authorized overdraft rate. There is no difference between authorized and unauthorized, a truly bizarre position.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -
Where are we supposed to ask our Qs about this then as i've seen a few of these threads about & i'm lost. lol.
So let me get this straight .......
* all my direct debits are with my nationwide flex account at the moment
** i will need to move one of the direct debits from the flex account to another current account (so that'd be my halifax one then*
*** i then need to move the direct debit BACK to nationwide once it's setup with halifax.
to get the £75?
Why can't they just pay me the £75 as all my direct debits are with them anyway0 -

No they don't need to be DDs any type of payment will do as long as you switch all of them.
All you need to do is set up one or more bill payments on you Halifax account.
I did exactly that last time they had this offer.
When the transfer to Nationwide is complete either leave the bill payment live or cancel it (after receiving the £75) - your choice.0 -
I like this one as I have an existing flex account and a dormant account. I have had 83p in an Abbey national account for years but they wouldn't let me close it when I tried as no one was available to have a chat about it. So I thought I would leave it and they could have the expense of sending out statements every month. I have just checked the account on line and it has a few direct debits so transfering this to my flex makes sense as it ticks all the rules. It says nothing about paying salaries or any other money in, just that you transfer ALL payments. I was going to do this with the £50 last year but may as well have an extra £25 for a couple of pints and a bag of chipsRemember a bank will always lend you an umbrella, they will always take it back when it rains0

mobile phone
internet
union fees
If i transfer all of these to the "main account" does this qualify me, or do they have to come from an outside (non-Nationwide) account??
If so then i really can't think what i can setup my Halifax to pay. Everything is covered by my FlexAccount, so i'd have to cancel it & then re-do it with Halifax, then transfer it.
Unless of course, transferring from the secondary Flex Account will qualify me.0 -
Has to be a switch from a non Nationwide account.
In your Halifax account just set up, online, a Bill Payment to pay your other Nationwide account or any other accounts you have available.0 -
Apologies for being a bit dim here, but are you saying this:
In my Halifax, set up a direct debit arrangement (don't know how at the moment as i've only just started with Halifax online) to pay my own Nationwide account. Not necessarily the one i will pick as the main account, but "A" FlexAccount.
I then transfer this to my main FlexAccount, so THAT FlexAccount will in effect be funding my other FlexAccount via direct debit
And THIS would qualify me?0 -
Yes set up a bill payment to your other Nationwide account from your Halifax account.
This will qualify for the incentive when you switch.
Note it is a bill payment not a DD.0
