So I just posted on the 'no more books' thread and this thread also resonates with me. I am looking to save money and reduce the amount of stuff I have. I don't have loads of dvd's but I do have a decent pile of ones I want to get around to watching. However, sometimes when we are wanting to watch a film we end up renting one from waiki. There isn't really any need for this as we have dvds/Netflix. Many of the films we have rented have ended up on Netflix too.

So my goal is to not buy or rent any more films this year but to watch my dvds or Netflix instead. I also want to have gotten rid of all of my dvds by the end of the year.

So had a cold all weekend so decided to watch a film yesterday and watched one of my DVDs, The Dressmaker. Not quite what I was expecting but I enjoyed it. It'll go in the sell pile now.

Welcome to the thread Louise  and good luck with your personal challenge.

I'm still working my way through mine (not that successfully thanks to Car Boots and Jumble Sales! I am much better at not spending more than 50p on dvds tho!

2 more watched this weekend. Charlie's Angels and The Woman in Gold. Charlie's Angels was about as rubbish as I thought but pretty entertaining! The Woman in Gold was brilliant - one of the best films I've watched this year. A true story of a lady who tried to get a Klimt painting of her Aunt, that was taken by the Nazis, back from an Austrian museum.

Thanks blindtoast. I saw the trailer for 'The Woman in Gold', it looked really good.

Car boots sales and charity shops are definitely my downfall. That thinking of they are cheap so why not, not thinking that I have enough to watch at home and the money would be better saved, no matter how small an amount.

Another film watched this week - Monsters. It was good but not at all what I expected and a bit strange.

I've been slowly working my way through the films this year. Another 5 watched since Monsters last month:
    Pennies from Heaven
    Gravity
    Kung Fu Panda 2
    Overboard
    Wondrous Oblivion

Really enjoyed all of these ones so they have gone back in the keep folder. Not helping with clearing out but at least I'm enjoying the films!
