Finished West Wing Series 7 - the final series. Me and Mr smf2 have been watching this since xmas :rotfl:

The final series was brilliant. We'll definitely watch the whole of this again sometime.

We'll probably start watching "thirtysomething" series 1 now. This was my birthday gift.

  • I definitely need to join this thread... after I promised myself and my OH I would curb my DVD habit and start selling them off on eBay, I bought four more DVDs at a car boot this morning (£15 for four Deep Space Nine boxsets, how could I say no?)...

My current total is 344 DVDs owned, with only 253 watched so far... so only 91 to go! That doesn't include all the DVDs I've bought and not watched since, that's just the ones I've never seen at all!

My aim for the end of this year is to try and watch about 30 more and try to reduce my total owned to around 300 (at least then they might all fit in my cabinet...)

    Wish me luck!:j

Best of luck. That's a great target. And if you ever decide to sell those DS9 boxsets, I'm fairly certain that you could rack up a profit on Ebay. ;)

Hehe... that's why I told my OH anyway, he'll never watch them with me!

… things are going OK so far. I’ve had a bit of a sci-fi/fantasy week. I'm trying to get through one episode of Supernatural season 2 a night so that’s nearly finished. I’m sure I’ll want to buy the third season when I'm done but I’ve promised myself to make a bit more headway first.

Also watched three films… The Neverending Story (already put on eBay :)), A Scanner Darkly, and Cypher, a film that I bought 5 years ago and have only just got round to watching!

  • Think my issue is not buying stuff we don't want to watch but simply time to watch what we buy! I have major issues about TV in the bedroom which tends to mean we only put a movie on when we're both not feeling sleepy - tall order on 50 hr weeks. Since I download more than not anyhow will bow out of this one but will make a conscious effort not to but another movie till I've watched all we have!

TBH, I think that's a fair description of me, but I think it essentially amounts to the same thing. I have every intention of watching every DVD I have purchased, but making time is not always as easy as buying the disc, hence this challenge, which I look upon as a moratorium in the accumulation of films. Best of luck in getting through your pile of unwatcheds, though! :)

  • Me too... we always tend to only have time for single episodes rather than a whole film in the evening. But it's films I tend to buy... it doesn't seem that long ago when DVDs seemed really expensive so whenever I see a £3 DVD (usually cleverly positioned at the supermarket tills) I always think it's such a bargain. I have to really restrain myself to not be tempted to pop it in the trolly!
