Desperate to find a home for cat
Comments
-
I rehomed one off this site a couple of years ago- a week before she had kittens. (I knew that before I got her) She has turned out to be a lovely cat and I kept one kitten and found homes for the others.
Do try 'catchat' but be warned, some of the replies can be rather [STRIKE]rude[/STRIKE] sharp but I think most have the best interest of the cats at heart
Use freecycle and gumtree as a last resort and if you do please take the cat to its new home and check to see if the home is OK, if not bring the cat home and don't feel guilty for any offence caused.
I wish I lived nearer, I'd happily take in another as I have space and time.
Good luck.
There were two pigs offered on my local freecycle last month. I was so tempted but DH might have left home:rotfl:Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Rachelandgromit: DEFINITELY get a photo of said cat hosted and start threads on both catchat and purrsinourhearts forums. I've seen people in rescues moving heaven and earth, willing to travel all over the place to find places or foster-homes for homeless and about to be homeless pusscats. Please do this while there's still time0

My vet, Goddards - take in 10 cats per week - those cats are collected by Cat Protection from the vet and rehomed.
If you are anywhere near East London, send me a PM and I will give the details.
Other than that - Celia Hammond may be able to help, google them and see if they have a branch near you.0 -
Great advice about catchat and purrsinourhearts.....same to you too sophieschoice.
There are lots of truly amazing people out there who will do all they can to save these poor kitties. Don't be shy....get some pics and attach a little blog about the cat, explain it's character.
Someone out there is looking for a grumpy untouchable black cat!
I think both posters are 'oop north' so our darling Celia Hammond cannot be of help....but there are lots of other small independent rescues.0 -
I was going to suggest Catchat too. I know you have tried Freecycle but what about Freeads? I got my beautiful dog from there, he was advertised one evening and I enquired about him the next day and we drove to collect him the same day.
And by the way, before anyone asks me why I didn't go to a rescue for a dog, it is interesting to note that I had already registered with 3 rescues who were "desperate" to find homes for lots of doggies, but I didn't hear back from any of them within a 3 week period, not a word. I would have at least expected an acknowledgement of some kind and/or a home visit. Two of these rescues had actually discouraged people on their websites to home a dog from Freeads or similar but if my experience is common then I can fully understand why people bypass them and use Freeads or similar.
Having said that I got my beautiful cat, Mia, from a Rescue with no problems and on the whole I think they do a brilliant job.0 -
Please don't Freecycle the cat, you have no control over the quality of the next owner, these cats need a suitable forever home not to be rehomed again or abandoned because they are 'difficult'. Please use CatChat and Purrs - as B&T says if there is a time limit they will move heaven and earth to take the cat in.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Sorry for the delay, I've just got in from work. I have had a message from the Cats Protection League and they are certainly trying to sort something out, have said they will call next week and try and find her a temporary foster home. They are worried about her being on the road. Anyway, here are some pictures of Felix. She is not a photogenic cat and no matter what picture you take she always looks like she's been dragged through a hedge! Thanks for the advice re catchat, etc... I've tried everywhere near our location in Cheshire, Stoke on Trent, etc... but no availability.0

She is cute, she will have some fans on Purrs if you post her photos over there! Black and white is good, it's a popular choice.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
