mothers day help please

Hello lovely people - this is the 1st thread I've ever started so be gentle with me!

At my son's school they have a Mothers Day sale where the children buy items for around £1. Usually they are donated or scrounged items, but this year we;d like to add some homemade items. There will be a small team making the items and so I am after very cheap ideas!! We will be making many post it note holders and bookmarks so far!

ANy ideas gratefully received

  • When we made Mum's survival kits in after school club they went down very well.

You need a small box and put in it things like.

A penny so you can never say you are broke.
String for when you get to the end of your rope so you can keep going longer.
Paper clip so you can hold things together,
Fruit pastille to give you a burst of energy when you don't have any,
Marbles for when you lose yours,
Polo to remind you you mean a mint to me.

How about teabag cards like this... http://ladynthestamp.blogspot.com/2008/07/tea-bag-holder.html

    A decorated bar of chocolate?

A door hanger for the bathroom door saying something like "do not disturb, mum's having pampering time".
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain
  • Thanks Rainmac and Rosalie-Lavendar. I found a poem for the tea bag holders if anyone is interested. I also spotted an idea for sunflower seeds in a pot, along with a label 'You are my sunshine' - accompanied byt hte words to the song.

Just put the kettle on to boil,
And have a cup of tea
Then sit down in your favourite chair
    And cuddle up with me
