Got my recorded delivery this morning, excited for a moment and then thought must be dodgy - read this and shall place in the bin. At least I got some cashback for entering the comp in the first place though -oh what a surprise it didn't track!

    hello mpython

There is little point on my making any more comments on this subject.

I have done my sums and feel for the type of holiday on offer that this is a deal that suits us. We have certainly paid out more to travel companies over the last few years.

At no point did I ever consider that I was receiving a free holiday, however free membership was gratefully received.

lol sorry but it is so obvious all the people posting what a great deal this is are some way involved with this dreadful company. Just put it in the bin, don't fall for it.

or am i just to cynical nowadays :D

    Hi dee,

Why are have you gone all coy? I was just starting to enjoy the debate, I hoped you'd share your sums with us and tell me you've only committed £50k rather than £100k to seasonsholidays. I guess my £100k was an underestimate then. On another thread we worked out it was likely to be nearer £1m if you spent all 69 years (theirs was obviously a different deal) if you include inflation.

No wonder they can 'afford' to give away £3.5k memberships for free with that kind of future revenue stream.

    Hi mpython

My calculations are based on what monies have been spent on holidays in the past 10 years.

We have decided up upgrade so that we get 6 green weeks that can be exchanged with other time-shares. Next year we will definately be using them and all the other benefits which come with upgrading.

I like having two cruises a year and not that we have retired we will still be able to do this through exchanging our weeks. Due to age we anticipate 15 years left of worldwide travel, however before that our children will benefit from our membership.

Just for the record I nor any of my friends and family have any connection with Seasons Holidays. I arrived on this site by googling for something else and saw the seasons thread.

Why not phone Seasons and get the information for yourself. The members guide is very comprehensive and very easy to read. The rules of occupation and terms and conditions are both online. The sales pitch is very easy to understand once you get your head round what the rep is saying.

    Hi dee,

Please try to be consistent. In post#221 you said you had 1 green week, now in post #228 you've upgraded to 6 green weeks. At this rate you'll be living full time in seasonholidays accomodation.

Have I understood you right? You're only planning to use it for 15 years but have signed up for 61 years on the basis your children & grandchildren will take it over........

I notice you don't dispute the figures I've thown out and have omited sharing your own. You don't really expect people to believe that it represents value for money with that kind of approach.

Why don't we talk about something else? What kind of car do you drive, I'd love to hear you tell me all the benefits of it & money you've saved by buying it and driving it. I'm sure you'll be as well informed about your car as you are about seasonsholidays.

What we have is a green week and a red week, however we have now decided to upgrade. I assume that my English is poor and you are not able to understand what I am writing, either that or you are trying to provoke a reaction.

Each red week can be exchanged for 3 green weeks, this in turn can be used to exchange with other timesharers. plus, there are other holiday weeks that we can use. We plan about 10 weeks for next year.

My calculations are based on monies already spent. This is personal so I will not be declaring how much spent or how many holidays we take a year. Enough to say that in our retirement we will be looking at the self catering option.

Our existing weeks have a 61 year lifespan, however neither my husband or I will be alive then so we are only planning for 15 years of holiday.

As far as my car is concerned I opted for a Ford Ka rather than the fuel guzzeling monster I had before. I absolutely love it and would replace like with like. My husband wants to change his car and off-load his BMW onto me but I am not interested. Benefits of my Ka well........why should I tell you?
  • hello mypython. my parents have been a member for over ten years now they have invested more into it since the first time they started. i think could be about 10k. the company has opened a lot more places since we first started i think sue barker is the person who advertises it not judith chalmers i have seen her advertising something but its definitely not her at the moment. the website is https://www.hpb.co.uk i could put down the details here but it would be a very long post so go and check it out for yourself. if you require any more information i pop in occasionally when i stop doing the competitions have started to get addicted to doing the comps ending takes up most of my time

    Dee

So you started with 1 green week with maintenance of £367, then bought a red week with maintenance of £390 and have subsequently exchanged the red week for 3 green weeks (I presume with a maintenance of 3 x £367 = £1,001) making a total of 4 green weeks, but in post #228 you're planning to upgrade to 6 green weeks, and then in post# 230, you're planning to spend 10 weeks a year holidaying....... What kind of employer do you & OH have that allows such generous holidays leave?

So, if I've got my sums right now as you won't share any of your calculations with us, your're spending £2,371 in maintenance each year for 10 green weeks (excl flights, food, transfers etc etc) and you've committed yourself & family for the next 61 years, and the maintenance fee can increase above RPI.

I think my £1m estimate was on the low side. Whilst I respect your right to privacy for what you've previously spent on holidays, please feel free to provide your own analysis to counter mine.

Thanks for telling me about your KA, you obvioulsy like it a lot. You sound genuine when you say you'd replace like with like. That's in stark contrast to your posts about seasonholidays.
