  • Hi
I also won a lifetime membership to Clubseasons to the value of £3,750 and quickly learned that it was timeshare . I don’t think that’s its illegal as they are offering a lifetimes subscription for the money , although that seems steep. Still its up to the individual as to how they see this as a prize, if you can call it that as they are asking for yearly service payments. I think if you work to the rule, that if you win a prize its free, with everything included . thereby you cant really go wrong

Me too,I got the letter today. Its gone straight in the bin.
  • I got mine today.Yipeee!!!I needed more paper to shred for the composter:D
As for the recorded delivery thing, did anyone actually sign for theirs because it looks to me like they have just stuck the label on(which anyone can pick up for free in the post office) and sent them ordinary business post without paying for recorded.I didnt have to sign for mine,it was just put through the letterbox with the other composter fuel;)

Hello, yes I got one today, and no I don't remember entering such a competition. It's mainly places I wouldn't want to go, and many of the places require an extra payment per person to stay there. I gloriously won a week's holiday in Tuscany from a newspaper, and it was perfect, no extras, splendid accommodation, flights and car hire included, and I have remained friends with the villa owners. Now that's what I call a prize. I have enquired whether one can sell the clubseasons package and what the market is for it. But mainly, I'm not going to bother. Also I have my own holiday accommodation, so paying a management fee to stay somewhere I don't fancy isn't on the cards.
After first posting this I went to look on blagger.com. Fair few people there who have tried it. One who says the reps say thousands of these given away. Caveat emptor.

The answer to whether the timeshare can be sold is apparently you can sell membership after 12 months and if you have had a 7 night holiday. However, as with most selling, there is only a sale if these is a market for the item. My advice, forget it.
  • Hi all

Had recorded del letter last week for a competition I "won" called the freephone no which did reel me in as I expected premium rate no and then I knew for sure it was too good to be true whren they asked for maintenance fees.

So not accepting this prize, as competions are supposed to be free, no paying this that or the other to get it.

    Immoral horrible people.

I signed for mine today!!!!! at first i thought WOW then imediately searched MSE to see if this was too good to be true. And so it seems I was right. gonna make a nice compost liner!!!!

with regards to the SIGNED FOR BIT you are right. It has just been stuck on. having tried to track the letter with royal mail it comes up saying there is a problem with the code you entered.

ALL BEWARE.... I have not read ONE post that praises these companies...well apart from the people that work there writing on here

We won this told it was worth £3750. Very seceptical although we do enter comps on the net and we did enter one for seasons. We were invited down to Laugharne this weekend. In the welcome letter we were informed that we would have to attend a talk for approx 90 Mins, here we go, we thought we would be in for 90 mins of hard sell, but hey! a free weekend nothing to lose. I have to say thet the talk was for 90 mins, very casual and laid back, first of all ensuring that we understood what we had won (a green week) and limitations that entailed, then asking where we liked to holiday and our favourite places. We mentioned that we have a caravan and that normally we holiday for six weeks a year both home and abroad. We were shown what our options would be if we were to upgrade and I have to say they were excellent. At the end of the talk it was suggested that in fact it would be unlikely that we would make full use of the upgrade, in fact the cost of the upgrade was never mentioned. When I asked what the cost of the upgrade would be, I was asked did I think that we would make use of it, when I said no at that point I was told there was little point in going through the costings even though we would have got a discount on that day. All through the conversation we were made to feel at ease. At the end the rep wishe us well and said that we were lucky to have won. We aske other guests who were there approx 8. They had all paid for a green week and were there to possibly upgrade. Others who were there for the weekend had bought the red weeks or were relatives of those who had. My answer to anyone who has won thie, would be to say take it if you will take advantage every year of taking a holiday out of season Jan/Feb/Nov/Dec. Then go for it, if not then opt out. We have just had a very enjoyable relaxing three days too good to miss.:T :T
