BECAUSE I'VE GIVEN UP ALCOHOL, BISCUITS/CAKES AND SWEETS FOR LENT!!!!!

I know it's not quite in the spirit of things, but since this is only the first day of Lent, could you quickly think of something else to give up (or stash goodies with a reliable friend/neighbour)? ;)

DS1 and 2 were not pleased but I was even less pleased that the bedrooms were still untouched. They are all out in the garden currently picking up all the stuff they threw out of the window instead of putting it in the bin. The kitchen window is below DS1's bedroom so did he really think I wouldn't notice???
    sorry but:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
my mum came - bringing with her all the goodies she couldn't deliver near christmas cos of the weather.

so i now have 2 bottles of wine, 2 boxes of biscuits and a box of Mingles:mad::mad:

why the mad face you ask?

BECAUSE I'VE GIVEN UP ALCOHOL, BISCUITS/CAKES AND SWEETS FOR LENT!!!!!

And there is NO chance that any of it will still be there come Easter!
    :o:p
    I will help!

I now have blimmin sinus pain and earache...isn't it just my luck that I am ILL when I am off on holiday anyway...I tried to gargle with aspirin solution this morning but failed miserably - I keep 'thinking' I am going to drown and either retch it up or swallow it.

I have remembered to throw out the bathsponge (I use the bathroom sponge/scourers from Wilkos for the sink and bath they're great for S&Sing) and the washing up green scourer (I buy them but snip them in half prior to use:money:I also cut brillo pads in half when I use them;):money:)
Jobs for tonight - put black bin out...

lamew - what are birsay biscuits? Also how's your sleeping problem doing? Hope it's settled more
Thank you, I've had a couple of not-too-bad nights, so hopefully improving.:o

Birsay Biscuits are made using Beremeal, which is milled on Orkney.
If you go to this link
    http://www.birsay.org.uk/baronymill.htm
and scroll about 3/4 of the way down the page, the recipe is there; I brought some of the flour back with me when we visited, and make these for Mr LW's lunch box sometimes.:o I'm informed that you can use spelt flour in place of beremeal, but I've never tried this.

    Hi all
Hope today has been good...sorry for not catching up on the thread, but here's some hugs to all who need one....

Today has passed in a blur and I've managed to get loads done...as always, if it's not here then I've done it....

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining Mess
    Level One
    Sweep, vacuum and mop floors
    Level Two
    Level Three
Wipe the tops of the wall units.. lining them with old wallpaper or newspaper keeps them clean!
    Tuesday ~ Living/Family/Reception room
    Level One
Declutter and vacuum floor! This is an ongoing daily process...the laminate shows too much dirt. When I've got carpet it'll be hidden...:p
    Level Two
Wipe sticky grubby marks from walls and paintwork
    Level Three
Polish any glass.. screens, pictures, ornaments mirrors etc
    Wednesday ~ Master bedroom
    Level One
    Level Two
Wash the curtains/nets and clean the window before rehanging them!
Dust away the webs and fluff
    Level Three
Sort through a box of stuff... I have about a million to do!
Tidy up a cupboard of clothing planning to make this the airing cupboard....
    Extras
    1. Sort some stuff to ebay .. free listing on 18th/19th and you can use TL.. so you have no excuse! Have taken photos, but feeling reluctant to list at the moment. There's a silly fool who's bought something from me and who is being a complete a**e about feedback. Wanted me to leave feedback before I'd even sent the item....erm, no! How do I know it's arrived? Have had three emails about this already...auction ended on Monday! Anyway, I'll get over it by Friday....and then they'll be on my blocked bidders list.
In addition, I have completely stripped DDs bed (wet night), washed her duvet (it's nearly dry), completely cleaned the bathroom (I'm out tomorrow and I figured I'd get ahead), hoovered the entire house (apart from the living room, that'll be swept later tonight), made lemon drizzle cake, got my bits and pieces ready for tomorrow, and had a look at my menu plans for the next couple of weeks.

Yesterday evening I ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes (sorry, that makes me sound too :A...I actually ran intervals for a total of 8 minutes, walked fast for the rest). I blame this for the over-enthusiasm with which I have tackled today :D.

Right, I'm off to get the littleys to bed, then my evening dailies....OH is off to buy a bottle of wine, which I think I've earned today!

Take care and have a good evening

As this is a private requirement, the GP may charge for it.
    I didn't think of that :o

Rose – Its 6 weeks before they put you on medical suspension, and that isn’t for another week or so, so not worth it in the long run or else I would have, planning going in on Saturday to see them. (And when we asked GP to fill in form for our mortgage after DH had a bad car accident last year they charged us £35. Gym is £30/month
    Sorry, I didn't realise :o

Little ones had lunch at 1.30. DS1 and 2 at 3pm. I am very stubborn and they thought I had cooked for all of them at 1.30, DS1 and 2 were not pleased but I was even less pleased that the bedrooms were still untouched. They are all out in the garden currently picking up all the stuff they threw out of the window instead of putting it in the bin. :rotfl::rotfl:That sounds like me [STRIKE]when I was a child[/STRIKE]

I gave up after I had to go to the bathroom rather urgently earlier and just went to bed. Have just had some chicken as am starving, and feel a little better. Since I got up, I've run DH a bath, and done some washing up. Ran out of hot water so will do some more washing up when it's heated up some more water for me.

I'm trying to persuade DH he doesn't want to watch football this evening. He normally goes out Wed nights, and I'd planned lots of progs I was going to watch, but his partner in crime phoned earlier to cancel. As the weekend was like this: football, rugby, rugby, football, sleep, football, rugby, rugby, olympics I kiind of want a night off from football!

I did; indeed, I was PM'd a brilliant idea of "banishing" the nightmares. which I did with due ceremony, and fingers crossed, seems to be successful. I'm using incense sticks in the bedroom also; nice restful aromas, and I also have another method of attack, which requires Mr LW's co-operation, and I'd probably better not say any more about that.;):rotfl:
I'm certain the good vibes from the Flyladies helped enormously, though. Thanks.:)

No, I never have. I feel I've missed out on something now.:(:rotfl:
Actually, it'd be a bit difficult, as the bedroom and [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] spare room are the only ones that face out onto the front; the lounge faces onto the back garden.
