Right, I haven't cleaned the cooker because there are just too many people around! (and I've got a lot more feeble excuses where that came from!)
But I love my new clean cleared kitchen cupboard - I keep going and opening the doors and looking in - like if I don't keep checking it will go back to how it was before!
I will try and do the rest of the kitchen jobs today but now I'm going to hoover the lounge because a) no-one else is up and b) it will get them up!
    Have a good day everybody.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Good morning everyone. It's Terrific Tuesday so let's make the most of it. Got a question though. If I clean out our garage today am I allowed to throw out the motorbikes that are in there cluttering the place up?:rotfl:
I suggest you ebay them... at least then you'll have some cash in your running away fund when someone finally notices WHY it's so tidy ;):rotfl::rotfl:

Let's hope my efforts dont fizzle out again to day like they did yesterday. Ended up sitting on the sofa most of the day watching daytime TV (I NEVER watch daytime TV) while doing a bit of writing now and again.
That's why I don't have a TV... having said that, I did manage to do a final draft on one piece, put it into a new template (it was too long for the one it was in) and send it for peer review. The two others I'm not entirely happy with. I'm hoping my mentor will look them over today and either confirm they're rubbish and chuck them back at me OR tell me I'm being silly so I can get them sent off too... I have a presentation that urgently needs doing, so if you want to set an artificial deadline for a challenge, I need to have it done by the end of the week

Budget for garden/house sorted. Just trying to work out what paving I want (and can afford) for the patio. One landscape suggested sandstone tiles which are very pretty BUT tiny (so will cost a fortune to lay) and apparently also require a lot of cleaning. I want BIG paving stones of some kind (so less labour). There must be some kind of reconstituted stone that's affordable and looks nice....

... can you see where my day might be going ? :o

    Morning all,

Moon and I went to dinner last night - I spent most of yesterday sleeping in preparation for it so that I'd have the energy to enjoy the meal. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very good, so I filled out the feedback card. This morning I got a call from the manager and she was sorry we had a bad time, and is sending us vouchers in the post so that we can come again another time and hopefully have a better experience.

Before we went out though, I managed to get Moon to wipe down the sides and top of the oven, so they are reasonably clear this morning - may have to go over the worktop again with the cream cleaner though as it has lots of tea stains on it still.

The living room needs a proper hoover/dust as I keep on finding the black dust on things where the woodburner was installed - it's all over the boxes of chocolates I got for Christmas!

Think I'll have to play catch-up later in the week when I'm feeling better, cos was up every hour last night coughing again, and according to Moon, when he woke me up after I'd finally got to sleep, I was sleep-talking again. I'm back to having nightmares about school again too, so may have to start on the sleeping tablets again.

We had some charity bags come yesterday and they are being collected on Wednesday, so I think I may have a clothes cull today. My cupboard is stuffed full, so I should probably get rid of a couple of bits and pieces. There's definitely a couple of pairs of jeans that no longer fit me.

    Let the decluttering commence!
