  • Just ordered a contract phone from buymobilephones with a free ipad. I got my phone the next day and received my ipad today (23 November):j, a week after my phone arrived. I sent through the required paperwork but at first the ipad was out of stock (they told me by email the day my paperwork arrived though). However I got an email yesterday to say it had been despatched and it arrived this morning. So all in all a very good experience!

I bought a phone on contract 5 weeks ago. When I ordered on the phone they said my chosen free gift was in stock. They forgot to send me the claim voucher so sent me an email one which was supposed to be quicker "you will have your free gift by the end of the week if you email straight back" which i did. I was promised my gift had been reserved " theres one allocated by your name. Two days after I received an email to inform me that my free gift was now out of stock and would take upto 72 days. They would email with updates later. I told them that I wanted to cancel my contract and return the phone as i got it from them because of the promises they made. As per terms of contract i was advised i had 7 days to get the phone to their office. The 7 days started from when the phone was activated 6 days ago. I had no hope in hell of getting it there. What a con they dragged it on to make sure that as a customer i had no time left to return it. After waiting for five weeks I've been told i may have it for the end of Dec....If I'm Lucky that is !!!! They are dishonest and only care about securing the contract steer well clear.:(
  • are these connected to affordable mobiles? I'm trying to get a Motorola Defy from them at the moment with a Wii Fit, but my first application was "declined by the network" even though T-mobile had no record of an application in my name, and I was accepted by them over the phone. I'm worried now I may not get my free gift if I sign up with them

No. And the claim of the network declining is often untrue with several dealers; they simply don't want to supply the deal for one reason or another (sometimes their own limites on deals per customer in a set time, sometimes because they offered something they had no intention of supplying).
  • I order my mobile from e2save and it was cash back claims and i forgot to send my first 6 months bills within 60 days to e2save and they didnt pay me cashback amount. Some time we can make mistake and sometime they make mistakes

Buymobilephones have some decent deals, eg. T-Mobile 300/300/1GB 24 months £15/month + HTC Desire for £89.99. After £30 c/b that's £420 over 2 years which is a good deal given the handset is still selling around £350 new.

I've been burned on cashback redemption schemes in the past and this forum and others are full of people whose free gifts were delayed or never turned up.

Personally now I only look at the tariff and handset combo and ignore all the redemption deals and free gifts as they are nice to have but you can't rely on them.
  • I only tried cashback once with CPW which was a complete nightmare to get out of them. They absolutely refused to receive my last bill.

I posted it, they claimed they hadnt got it. They had to send me another one so I could send that back to them (wth!?), which they also claimed not to have got. I was then out of the redemption time but I complained and they let me fax me in a copy I had taken, to someone in credit control who will definitely call me if the fax doesnt arrive. Weeks later and still no cheque, so I call back and the credit control guy apparently never got it.

So I get the copy, and the original transmission reportm and I got to my work fax machine, and I fax it again, and again, and again. And I call back, and they still dont have it.

Tell you what, says the guy, whose direct line I now have. Dont worry about it we'll just send the cheque out.

When I got that cheque I felt like laminating it and putting it on the wall. Unfortunately I stuffed it in my bag and forgot about it til it expired, anyway, never again.
