LOL I love the beer mat idea, that actually might work and cardboard coasters are easy to buy.
Yummy- the condom is hialrious, now if only I could make the writing REALLY small.
Thanks all for distracting me. Dh is not a well bunny, just can't stop coughing, and I don't deal well with illness. He has FINALLY agreed to me calling the doctor in the Am and will have to take time off work (he got sent home today) even though their sickness policy is so draconian and he'll get a formal warning. Pees me off so so much. It's thier bloomin' policy that got him sick in the first place as someone else had to come in to work with thier horrendous cough and passed it to him.
Edited to add: I just realised I'll need to find out how to copyright my poem or else there's nothing to stop everyman and his dog from printing it off themselves. Okay, another thing to add to the list.0 -
For those who remember my posts inspired by "the now habit" book.
He also suggests as well as the reverse calendar using an "unschedule".
Basically he says that people often resent the tasks they have to do because they impinge on their time for enjoying themselves or even if they don't resent it they burn out. They also often procrastinate and don't do the things they "schedule" or put on their to do list because they seem overwhelming but they don't do anything really fun instead because they feel guilty because they should be doing their tasks.
This means that both the work and fun parts of our lives lose out.
He suggests not scheduling work but instead make a planner with stuff like 2pm go for a walk in the park. 5pm have bubble bath and candles. 10 am enjoy reading new book for half hour etc.
put in all stuff like drs appointments and schedule time for keeping up with friendships getting exercise etc. So you can clearly see where you are going to have fun and relaxation.
Then on the day in the gaps inbetween- think what is there that I can do for 30 mins before I go to the park. work on a task for 30 mins and then clearly record it and then go to the park. then before bath think what is there that I can do before my bath for 30 mins and when you have done it clearly record it.
You will find the work you do is more on task and so more productive and you will see the number of 30 mins building between all the fun/ nurturing stuff you are doing.
He suggests setting yourself a limit of no more than 30 mins at a time and no more than 4 hours a day and no more than 15 hours a week. BUT in those 30 mins do only real work on tasks eg don't go through and respond to all the emails you receive just because they are there. Choose your task and work on it and not the peripherals.
That might include answering/ responding to a specific email related to the task but not doing all of them before getting going.
He believes people can be more efficient and productive this way as well as having a more balanced life.
It is a bit more complex if you have a full time job but he kind of has a system for that too but to detailed for here.
Don't know if that helps anyone with overload but thought I'd throw it in.

Ilkle, what about those credit card sized calendars you can put in your wallet - your poem could be on the reverse. I usually have one in my purse (although I haven't at the moment), and they are really useful. Not exactly romantic though, lol !:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0

That's very, very interesting Jo, thank you. I've often joked around recently that I need to schedule my hobbies as I never seem to have time to do all the things I WANT to do! I do work full time, but this would still work in the evenings and weekends. Might give it a go!
Well, I'm cream-crackered so I'm heading off to bed. Kiddies are at their Dad's tonight, so peace perfect peace and no ultra early wake up in the morning!
Night night sleep tight everyone.

Question - I asked 10 people to be Mods on my forum and was hoping they would log in occassionally and chat. I've checked a couple of the accounts and they haven't logged in since December, would you be annoyed at this and de-Mod them ?0
-
Yes, its February...thats a long time!
I used to mod some forums when I was at college, and we had to log in at least once a week and do something productive, or we were de-modded.
Just my experience though!Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Hey Saucy - did you manage to check about the delivery yet? Really cross and sad as you went to so much effort for us, so wondering if we can figure out what happened. xxLife is a work in progress0

Post Office apologized, the lady was a temp and put it to one side and it didn't get posted. They refunded my postage and have promised it'll go with tomorrow's post. Sorry for the inconvenience
And they think Royal Mail is a first class service...they even asked me to fill out a survey saying I had had a good experience :rotfl:Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
