Hello all, have been reading this thread for ages but putting ideas together before sticking up a post, have some ideas but wanted some help with a few of them if possible...

Obviously I want to raise as much as possible with the £100 I Invest but first I want to raise the £100 (effectively meaning its £10k from £0) so I am off to raid the Shed and look for old mobiles to sell to get some initial money in.

Bank Account - has anyone set up a seperate bank account for this? I know you can get paid to setup A&L but I already have one, any other good suggestions?
I use cahoot for my business finances they are pretty good or just ask your bank if your can set up a basic account alongside your current accout.

Blog - also keen to setup a blog to document my progress (parallel to here) and to hopefully give others inspiration, can anyone suggest a good website to use?
Wordpress and Blogger are both pretty good.

Web Design - One of my ideas is to raise enough to invest in an Adobe Course and enhance my web design skills, I know quite a few people that would be willing to pay me to design a site for them in my spare time and have some family friends to build up the portfolio.
Lynda.com is excellent and they have a pay monthly option, why not do it that way and use tutorials online to improve. Some Adobe courses are way overpriced, the main thing is that you are good designer and proficient with the programs.

Quick Buck - Any ideas that can help me raise the initial £100, matched betting, current bingo offers? bingobritain.com is your friend :)

Thanks for any help offered, will be around alot :D
    Welcome frugalist :)

EM - hugs for the friend stuff. The ones who have been there done it are prob a bit defensive that they didn't make a go of it or a bit wary about people trying to rope them into similar things. Others prob don't even realise how they are making you feel and maybe have their own stuff going on.
Its not a reflection on you - you are still the same great person with the same opportunities. If you need your positivity boosting then pop on here and we'll big you up.

Good to hear the rats are home...what are they called?.. Did poo exploder catch on?

nope poo exploder is now out the window.... they have been christened.....

Rock Star (DD choice)..... and....... Mabel !!! ( DS Choice! Apparently after a Hamster called Mabel... never heard of the story myself)

Well done on the sales Mabel, gives you a real boost of confidence and success doesn't it.

mrstewieo - welcome!!! Have a look at Amazon for books, from what I have read they go better on there....

Em - as Shell said.... flick em the 'V' and join the 'nah nah nahnah' club. Make sure you phone them from whatever tropical island we decide on for Jan '11..... I shall be phoning quite a few people!! moan all you want here, get rid of the negative feelings and get on with making a success of yourself!

Wayne - have a look at the ebay forums, there is one specifically for shops. There's loads of info on there. Financially its not worth getting a shop if you list (including relists) under 75 BIN's a month. It does help to get you on the google search (if you use all the tricks available) but it doesn;t give you any advantage over another seller without a shop. I am planning to open a shop as the items I will be selling are small and it should help to take advantage of link sales. Make sure you really investigate how they work as it is easy to make an expensive mistake..... Ask opinions on the ebay board..... this whole site is a fantastic resource in itself... How the t-shirt business???

    Frugalist - Welcome.....

I really need to get some work done in the morning.... hopefully the sprogs will let me get on!

    Saucy - hows the leg???

It's quite an eye-opener doing this challenge. Absolutely none of my friends or family appear to want to help at all. Nobody is interested in buying a book (even the 99p ones), one friend made a catty remark about having been there done that years ago blah blah blah, nobody is interested in a reflexology, everybody mocks/ laughs at my ideas... They say things like 'oh that again'. Don't get me wrong, i don't expect my friends to form my client base really, but i think if the shoe was on the other foot i'd at least have bought a cheap book to show some support - or if i couldn't afford that i'd be saying 'oooh how's the business / money making going? anything i can do' blah blah blah. It's amazing how when things are going badly, they're all there to hear the gossip but when i'm making a success out of something (well nearly) they show no interest whatsoever. It's been like it all the way through! It makes me want to fly off somewhere and email a photo giving them the Vs! Sorry to offload my dribble!

One thing I have learnt over the years it takes a really good friend to be happy for you. My close friends have been amazingly supportive and some of them have been inspired to try their own projects. But, only my really close friends - I haven't told everyone what I am doing as negative energy puts me off my stride. And I find you spend most of the time defending your idea rather than focusing on it :)

Most of the negativity has come from my OH to be honest!!! So, I have learnt to be selective with what I tell him.
I had a project that I did a few years ago - and it was a real eyeopener needless to say it was enough for me to get rid of certain so called friends.
But, I know I will always get support on this thread and this has been the most fun, I have had working on a project in years. And, this has really helped to get my confidence back - the hardest thing about any idea is the first step. I just feel like I am part of a digital family - I get really excited to see the new posts! So, I don't care what other people think - I care more about my fellow dribblers have to say.
Sorry, for the long post :)
