Good Morning everyone,
It may take me a while to catch up with everyone's weekend activities as I've not been on since Friday afternoon, some 30 odd pages ago, lol.
I must say I went home on Friday positively buzzing with new ideas. Reality kicked in though when I checked the bank and we had £2.65 until payday at the end of this week. Oh well, at least the bills are paid and there's food in the cupboards even if it does mean I can't buy the domain names I've been looking at, yet.
My wife isn't that supportive of my ideas, but then again, I know she'll be happy when she can drop a few hours each day form her job to be with the kids So I'll just plough on with them.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and I'll look foreward to catching up with everyone later on.

Jo - told OH about how supportive yours was being and dmy big idea, expected the usual, it will never work, don't waste the money speech, but he said "Do you wnt my Net Hauler? I will list it for you!" Yay, starting bid £450 and I already have 6 watchers, fingers crossed. Don't know what has go into him!
Hope everyone is goign to have a productive day, now the kids are back at school (they are aren't they?), would say I know how you feel, but both mine are too young, so never get any peace!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -

I know books are a bit hit and miss, but the wotsit site that brings up local bargains has a pallet of books (36 boxes avg 50 bks per box) for 1p with no bids on it and it is within walking distance of home. I have got a shed that is used for.....ummmm.....nothing, so was thinking that it migh tbe worth punt, even at 10p each at the bootsale for quickly getting shot, should still make about £180, question is, is it worth clogging up the space?
Edit - forgot to mention, phoned seller yesterday and he recycles them, so he regularly has to many that he is all but giving away, his last pallet of them sold for £1.20! He said to bring the biggest van I can find and instead of just getting what I won on EBay, he will load it until it is full! (Even goes if I can go in a 40ft lorry!) plus he also gave me free listing software to manage stock!
Also ,the wholesale place that I have found, which is silly cheap, has reduced everythig to half price to clear out for the next lot, so now it is stupidly priced and selling quite fst, won't be able to pay for what I want til next week and am now worried that it will all be gone, grrrrr nail biting frustration here! Hope you've managed to get some sleep Saucy!
So am I the only one who's actually had dreams about posting on here? Or is anyone else finding that it's filtering through to their subconscious:rotfl:
Nixinixi, that's a decent amount of time to spend on your book, it sounds like you'll get lots done; and if not, apparently the trick is to make yourself write something, even if it's not related, for ten or so minutes; then you get back into the feel of it. Can you tell I've read a few 'how to write' books! You didn't say what age you were writing for? I thnk I assumed it was a picture book or similar (I have young children lol, I see a lot of picture books too!). The MBT thing has confused me now; I got mine from a shop and was told you sometimes needed a smaller size...I think...maybe I've just forgotten! Anyway if anyone from here wants them they can have a try around the house can't theyI'm just a bit embarrassed that they were the most expensive thing I bought to sell on and they haven't sold...the lesson learned here is research before you buy and don't buy on impulse!!!
I have made a necklace from polymer clay beads, it is a bit prettythink I'll try to get more made and then set up my Folksy shop over the next couple of days from what I've got.
Paula my original idea was for a picture book and I still have that idea but I have also developed the idea a little and changed it alot and come up with a story for the 5-7/6-8 market I think.... I actually think I will find it easier to write the slightly older story so I am going to start with that. The ideas are very similar but also completley different so hoping I can do both!
Can we see a pic of your necklace??? I love being nosey and seeing what people can make!!MummyandPaige wrote: »I know books are a bit hit and miss, but the wotsit site that brings up local bargains has a pallet of books (36 boxes avg 50 bks per box) for 1p with no bids on it and it is within walking distance of home. Skint- The corsages are lovely! Really nice well done you J Well done on setting up the folksy site too!
Mambury – great news about the mentoring for jewellery – great news.
Em – Go Rubix cube J
As for me the weekend treated me the way that a baby treats a nappy. As you know I was really excited about the wedding shows as it was going to be a golden marketing opportunity. Screwed up both! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
The first wedding show which was the designer wedding show in Battersea I completely missed, I managed to convince myself that the show was on the weekend of the 27th when it was valentines weekend. I have been kicking myself ever since.
Also, I was really excited about the national wedding show as I had a free ticket. However, there was a fault on my laptop – for someone reason the Bluetooth devices had uninstalled themselves and were not showing up on my computer. So, my Bluetooth advertising software would not work. It took a 48 hour google search and various solutions to try and get the bleeding thing to work again which happened at 8:45pm Sunday night. I spent the rest of the night sulking about having to go to work. Just really disappointed in myself because I should have checked my equipment in the week that I had off grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr – Golden opportunity wasted. I could kick myself.
The icing on top of the cake is that OH might be made redundant and he will find out this Friday, on his birthday, which is both nervewracking and crap he is putting on a brave face, but I feel really bad for him.10K 2010 challenge £3202.59/£10000
