Got 5 watchers across 2 of the items I listed yesterday, nothing on the last one, but I put it on a 10 day listing so there's time yet.
Made some more stuff last night and I lurve them - they are my favourite yet! I need to finish them off before I can list them, and I need my craft order to come before I can finish them off as I'm out of gold eyelets, so I'm restless and wanting to get on with them! They are rich red/blue/purple/gold and pretty lush if I do say so myself. I'm getting a lot slicker at making them too, which is nice.
Not really sure what I'm aiming to do today as I slept too long last night and I'm muzzy headed. Might just potter around and sort the house out a bit as I've been neglecting the cleaning and tidying.
On the subject of cute animals, I like pigs too and have a soft spot for donkeys.
Didn't find any batting, but did find some material which might be some use to somebody. munchki, I have about a metre of camoflage material that might do a nice boys quillow - it's a heavyweight cotton though (think cargo pants/combat trousers) so I don't know if it's suitable. Up for grabs, but munchki has first dibs on it.0 -
Glad you're feeling better today Nat :-)
Well done on doing your site Wayne!
Hi Cagne-yeah I can't keep up with these ones that dribble all through the night lol! i'm getting old cant stay awake past 10 :-)
2 cats...what on earth is batting??!!0 -
Trying to work out costs using that formula that someone posted yesterday. Is the 30% on top 30% of everything, so (time + (material costs x 2)) x 1.3? Or is it 30% of one or the other (time or materialsx2).
If it's 30% on top of everything then if I include the 20p listing fee for Folksy/Misi then I'd be looking at about £7 per pendant. Does that sound ok?
TBH I was keeping prices down as I was looking on this as a way of clearing my stash mountain, so any materials I used that I had already were sunk costs, i.e. zero in my costing spreadsheet, so the £5 was reasonable. If I'm going to do this going forward even just as a bit of fun/pin money then I'd need to cost it out properly and I'd need to go to £7. (Don't worry I'll do you guys original prices LOL).0 -

Batting is like wadding stuff like you make quilts squodgy with. I guess it's what munchki uses to make her pillows pillowy LOL. I had some from a brief flirtation with fabric art (can you tell I've tried most things at one time or another?) but it was quite thin so probably not suitable, and I think I must have slung it anyway.0 -
that price still sounds reasonable 2cats. Really love your stuff. Wish I could buy it sooner rather than later.

Still not looked at Ambers website as using Dh's work lappy while he is on hol. not sure it would look good on his browsing history!!!!“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

£7 sounds fine 2cats. Ahhh i see what batting is now...sqodgy's a great word!
I work mine out time + materials X 2 (you could add listing fees after this)0 -
oh, I was wodering the same thing! In that case, I brought 6 snow blankets from Wilkos for 75p each, 2m x 0.5m. Was going to turn them into blankets ad cot bumpers, but would be willing to share, is that the stuff? It says snow blankets, but I swear it is just wadding?
Was also thinking of trying the fabric art, found a cracking pair of curtains in the Charity shop for £2, they are covered in fish and mermaids, thought I would give it a go with them to start with. Am I barking up the wrong tree? ever done anything like this before, always wanted to but never got round to it!
Edit: Prat! googled Fabric art, I am soo not that clever, think I meant something else! You find a nice fabric square with a picture on it, put some wadding behind it and sew over some of the lines on the picture and hang it on the wall, anyone know what the hell I am going on about???turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0
