EA - my friend's a nursery nurse and has a 3 month old little boy. (6lb 2 when born so small and skinny) She found that pampers leaked on him, and had found the same at nursery that they leaked for boys and she much preferred huggies. She said the newborn were the worst tho.
She did say that for the older children (2+) she wouldn't use anything but pampers. (altho that won't appy to you just yet lol)Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
That's exactly what I found with DS2 too. This may sound mad, but when dd was younger it was pampers nappies, but then when pull ups I found huggies were better.
xx
But generally, this is one of those 'how long is a piece of string' questions - everyone will have a different opinion and you just have to make up your own mind.

i tried both but found Pampers easier to use!!
personally, i wouldnt settle on one brand before bubba arrives but have a few packs of each and try both. (thats what we did)
nappies are always on special offer somewhere.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
We found that huggies was better for our DD but it was Asda George ones that we found were best.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

I hated Huggies with my son, so used Pampers all the way through.
My baby girl is nearly 8 weeks old and i hate Pampers, had quite a few yellow vests as a result, but Huggies have been perfect, they're stretchier and lots better IMO.
I had bought Pampers whgen pregnant because of hating Huggies with Ds but i got the free pack from Tesco and switched to Huggies straight away after that.0 -
Out of the 2 I usually buy whichever is on offer, but my choice would be Huggies. I find there is a smell from Pampers.
For that reason I preferred Huggies. Pampers smelt awful after a while.
As far as leakage goes I have found at some point most nappies have leaked.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Pampers here.
We tried Huggies but didn't like them.
Jack is long and skinny - I do find the Pampers smell a bit when it's been overnight but then I wouldn't expect it to smell great after being on for 12 hours!
Tesco's nappies are crap! Found they leaked loadsA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I totally agree......DS4 is only 4 weeks and rather small:o
We had huggies and pampers.....the huggies Leaked and soaked right through his clothes....I was having a peek one day and pulled the nappy down a little at his leg he decided at that moment to pee and soaked me out of the other side of the nappy IYSWIM he was wet right through 8/9 times in the huggies....so i changed him over to pampers....no accidents or leakages yet!!
As the kids get older I prefer Huggies as they smell better.......sounds daft but its so true, they have a powdery smell:oBaby no 5 due 10th Feb 2010Not very MSE:money:
still dont know how it happened

OP - as with all nappies best to wait until baby is born and see what works best on your little bundle. I mostly used reuseables (had to change brands of those 6 months in...!) but when we used disposables:
My long skinny boy had leaky Huggies, got on great with Tesco.
My skinny girl with chubby thighs got on great with Pampers newborn, Huggies 3/4 and Tesco value size 5.
Bookers will still be there after bubba is born - do a bit of a trial first and you'll know which to go for IMO. Oh, and Bookers wholesale may not be as cheap as shops own label.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
