If you install Netmeter, it will provide a projected figure, with the option to provide an alert if you look like exceeding your monthly limit.

But you've moved the goalpost because your OP didn't say that you needed to know this weekend.

Agree, it might not be much use based on 1 days internet usage.

It's not download, it's data usage. Streaming videos (as opposed to downloading them) still counts as data usage, as does uploading. Viewing a single web page still moves data up and down.

Are you saying the webuser prediction isn't accurate? I used that and absolute maxxed out what I thought I would use and it still didn't reach 10Gb.

The O2 £70 cashback offer spurred me into action, but now I'm not sure if that is the best deal. Obviously I want to be able to use the internet, but as cheaply as possible.

Doesn't the Plusnet offering also tie you in for 12 months unless you pay £40 up front? And presumably you're in one of the low cost areas where the price remains low after the first 3 months?

Yes, I don't mind being tied in for 12 months if I get a good deal. I'm just looking to lower my broadband (and phone if I can) costs.

I am in one of the areas where it stays at £6/monthh for the whole year.

I just called Be broadband. They say they don't have the facility to tell me how many Gb I've been using. Does anybody else know a way I can work out what my usage will be roughly?

Just found a calculator on mynetusage.info website (can't do links) and that also thinks I'll be below 10Gb per month and I way overestimated everything.

Given the usage you describe I can't imagine that you'd exceed 10Gb. The iplayer and videos are the 'biggies', and it sounds as if you don't do a great deal of either.
