Download limit?

Hi

Does anybody know a way I can work out roughly how much download limit I use?

I'm with Be at the moment, but looking to move to O2 or possibly Plusnet (cheaper) if I use 10Gb or less per month. I've signed into the Be website to see if there's anywhere on there it tells me how much I use, but can't see it

Thanks

Gwen

This is probably a stupid question, but is the download limit the 'amount' of internet you use?

It looks like this is a meter to monitor usage on an ongoing basis, which is useful, but I'm looking to change my broadband provider this weekend (the SimplifyDigital offer ends soon), so does anybody know a way I can get an idea of what I use sooner?

I would imagine that if you call 'Be', they'll be able to tell you what you've been using recently.
    Nice to save.

The limit is what your ISP determines but basically surfing the internet uses some of your allowance.

Which is why I like an unlimited ISP (o2 in my case)

Thanks for that. I've looked at the 'invisible' sticky which seems to only provide details of 'meters', unless I've missed something? These would measure my future usage I assume? And therefore, wouldn't be too helpful for assessing whether 10Gb is going to enough for me this weekend before the £70 cashback on O2 broadband ends?

Ok thanks. I found a broadband calculator on webuser.co.uk. Assuming this is accurate, I wouldn't exceed 10Gb per month. I mainly surf the net (MSE! :money:), send emails (but not 1000's), check facebook, other websites, online shopping etc. I watch a few programmes on iplayer (probably no more than a couple of hours a month though), watch a few video's on youtube sometimes. That's about it really.

Sounds like you should be fine with a 10Gb limit

How much are you currently paying with BE?
