This is a mistake you know it is a mistake and if you received it then I would have said well done.

But if you don't and you won't receive it, why would you want to kick up a fuss with Trading Standards? Some you win some you lose.

Just leave it alone. (That is the polite version)

Unfortunately, Amazon Marketplace is a complete mess and who is legally liable is debatable and problematic.

    This is how it works:

    1) Seller lists a product by supplying description, price and barcode
    2) Amazon match all the items together by the barcode
    3) Amazon pick one suppliers description to use which they deem best and is not necessarily the description from the top company in the "buy from ...." box
    4) You buy from marketplace and find the best value for money item
    5) You receive the wrong quantity
    6) Who do you complain to? Amazon? The seller? The company that wrote the description?

    Heres an example:

Supplier A : 1 pencil for £0.19 (perhaps they sell individually)
Supplier B : 144 pencils for £25.99 (perhaps they only sell the outer box)

Amazon : Pick suppliers B description and state available from 'A' for £0.19.

    Result : 144 pencils - £0.19. See the error?

If the price was too good to be true, this can often be the reason why. Unfortunately, it isn't the sellers fault, but Amazon take no responsibility at all. Even if you point out errors, they don't bother to correct them.

Did they mean 6 bags of dog food totalling 15kg (i.e. 6 x 2.5kg bags?) The sellers description does not specifially state that 6 x 15kg bags?
