I would format the drive and do a clean install
  • Having deleated the two drives it found as per previous advice I did try on the second attempt to format the new drive it created but it wasn't an option, ie when you placed the cursor over the drive it didnt turn into a 'hand'...isnt this still a "clean" install?
  • Actually just thought, while Installing Windows it states "your computer will restart several times during installation"....as I have set the bios to always boot from cd/dvd drive is this ok?...I mean should mid process it be ok to continue from the DVD and not from the hard drive?...

    Progress report...Installing updates...
  • Its now restarting!
  • AH mid restart process its switched itself off, should it have been rebooting/restarting from the hard drive and not the DVD?...maybe I should go back into the bios and set it to boot from drive?
  • You must boot from the hard drive after the first time!

Deleting the partitions is a clean install.
  • Yes re-set to boot from HD, its trying again, this is more exciting than the latest episode of Lost!
  • "Setup is updating registry settings."

    Switched off again!...doh!
