This is a taffeta dress I'm making for my daughter. It has a full net petti which consists of 3 layers of tiered net.
Some satins, especially synthetic duchess are quite heavy so a single hoop with more net can be great.
  • Linda - I would love to be your daughter! That dress is gorgeous!!!!

    Have you an image?

Not yet, but the picture of your daughters dress is just the look i'm going for. When I get the dress I can take a photo of the skirt on and perhaps you can advise me then. (Will probably be about a week or so)

Thanks Linda for taking the time to reply :)

The you will need a tirered petticoat. Something similar to a Jupon 153 not a 168!

I'm not sure what I will need under mine
The skirt is a heavy taffetta (I think :o )

Absolutely no problem. An image of you in it would be great as I can determine your build and fullness of a petticoat. Sometimes, for more of a pleasing look, photographers add extra bits to obtain the best picture. They can often use 2 petticoats!!

    Hi Chel.
Taffeta is more of a lighter fabric, especially synthetic so having a net petticoat underneath doesn't drag the netting down like heavier fabrics can. (as in my daughters dress)
Are you looking for a hoop? If you are then most defo go for a single hoop with lots of net. Especially for taffeta. hth xx
