I wish I had someone as helpful as you, I've been told to organise my own :( Apparently... "After all it's your party!"

Me too! Well not told as such, but one bridesmaid 18yo little sister who got SO stressed i told her that Chief BM (Best Mate) would sort. She however lives 120 miles away, has two babies and works FT, Hen Do based in my lovely village so guess easier as I know best pubs / accom / activites. Were having champagne buffet at mine, canal boat ride, pottery lesson three course meal in private canalside room and staying in a bunkhouse barn. Nice!

Im so MSE that ive got the cost down to £60 pp for all of that - accom, activitiy, boat and two meals - my ladies just have to buy booze

Just pick exactly what you want to do....:T

those lodges look wonderful IF i was able to have a hen night i would definitely want to do something like that :T your friend is being very difficult. i have been trying to plan our day for months now and i will be doing it all alone as everyone i know is 200miles away so i would LOVE someone to help even if it was just with one small thing. i keep trying to talk to best friend about plans but shes too busy with her family to even answer the phone most of the time so i would love a friend like you to be helping me. well done you and don't let it get to you.
  • Hi guys,

Thank you all for your kind replies, it almost brought a tear to my eye. I was so upset yesterday that I actually went to another friends after work and cried.

I got a text from her this morning and then checked my e-mail, she replied, Yeah I know I don't want to either sorry x x x

so i guess we both had a stress yesterday for no reason. She then sent me this text message this morning,

sorry for the short reply yesterday, work was manic, need to chat about the hen do as its doing me head in.

Maybe i should bring up the lodge again? hehehe maybe we should all go? :T

Wedding stress has turned the bride into a bridezilla:eek: I think you both need to sit down and talk and if she has asked other friends to organise the hen do, let them do it and save yourself the stress especially as she changes her mind all the time:D

Weddings are funny things and turn normally meek and mild people into horrid demanding creatures who constantly change their minds.

OP maybe you should consider becoming a wedding planner and then you can be paid for dealing with bridezillas and their incescent ever changing demands.

Nevermind Bridezilla, Id just go for Barmy!!!!

I still dont know what the Hen do is, but have been asked to pay a £10 deposit towards it, with a payment plan to follow for the remaining £140!!!!!!!

anyway, with her wedding in September, she still hasnt got a wedding dress, despite my pleas, begging and booking her in to wedding shops as far back as October, so imagine my relief when she said that she wanted to go wedding dress shopping on Tuesday. Phew, she then tells me we are going to London! and to look at bridesmaid dresses as well.

I am fairly sure she hasnt picked her own dress yet and whilst I dont mind going to london to look at bridemaid dresses, it just seems to me to be completely mental to do this before she has decided what dress she wants.

I already have to go to london twice this month, so I am not looking forwarding to spending another lot of money of the train for what could possibly be a useless trip. What do you suggest?

    1) Go to london, shut up and put up! Im the moaniest bridesmaid you have ever come across! hehehehe
    2) Suggest we spend the day looking in local wedding dress shops
    3) Dont go?

Any help would be grateful, i am thinking of going with 2) but dont want her to kick of at me again.

She sounds the most ungrateful friend I've ever heard off. Ditch her plans she can do them herself, Come and help me with my wedding, I need you more than her by the sounds of things : )

To have someone like you helping in the way you have would have made my life a lot easier and you deserve a huge thank you for what you've done for your friend. she sounds like shes got the 'Bridezilla' bug so don't take it to heart I'm sure she appreciates your help really! xx
