Old boiler dispute!!!

Hi All, MSE NEWBIE. Don't know if I should ask following question here or
energy thread re British Gas-Homecare Agreement (BOILER)
Long story-cut short...ish
Took cover on boiler 2003 for 3* cover which was subject to Initial Inspection.
Cover accepted, deal was annual safety & maintanance + parts & labour etc if breakdown occured.
By Dec 2006, boiler was condemned. Refused to allow disconnection but left all relevant warnings etc & told by engineer had to be replaced ASAP & no repairs would be carried out due to breakdown because already told condemned status & replacment needed.
2 months payments due on that years agreement so direct debit not cancelled. Expected cover to be cancelled. (much longer story & details!)
PLEASE DON'T CHIDE YET RE DIRECT DEBITS BEING DEDUCTED
Never informed BG when new boiler eventually fitted & no engineers called,
no phone calls recieved.
Found payments still leaving bank Dec 2009!!!! (DON'T SAY IT, I KNOW)
When enquiry was made,Operator apologetic & agreed refund was due, she booked an engineer for Jan for inspection then put me through for refund. Offered £30.00 (PAID OVER £600!) Took address for complaint.
Loads more info if needed
Have just been offered £50.00 as goodwill gesture!
They argue that At Risk label put on boiler does not mean service and repairs would not have done and because I allowed new boiler to have inspection in JAN 10, they maintained the agreement. (Have evidence & proof here to dispute agreement was EVER honoured in TOC promised)
Wished I HAD complained re old boiler went from Good to Condemned due to their mistake but I let it go.
As I can dispute and provide proof of servicing on old boiler, DESPITE the fact DD ran so long, can provide proof they sould NEVER have been taken to begin with.
There claims that cover would have still been provided for old boiler is total bull!
They are regarding payments totalling £621.49 taken, warranted for 6 letters being sent over the course of 3 years (discarded as junkmail-unopened) 1 one inspection (available from BG for £50.00)

Boiler condemned by British Gas. She got a new boiler and forgot to cancel the direct debit for the cover on her old boiler (presumably the new boiler came with a two year guarantee). Has only recently noticed that the direct debit is still being collected by British Gas (who weren't told that a new boiler had been installed). Not happy with the refund offered.

I think what OP is trying to say is that...
1. Had cover for old bolier
2. Boiler was condemned and replaced
3. Cover for the old boiler was still being paid out for and only noticed after a few years.
4. Now BG are only going to give £50 instead of the £600+ they mistakingly paid.

In which case I'd say the OP's lucky to get anything back. It was their responsibility to inform BG that they had a new boiler fitted and that they no longer required the service agreement, both of which they neglected to do. How about taking some personal responsibility for a change.
Well if you guys are correct then I'm +1.0 -
