Am I obliged to hand it in?Hi Kitty, you'd need to check with the railcard people, if you still need someone with you when you travel then i don't see why you should hand it back as you paid for the railcard.
My suggestion for returning to driving is that you have at least one refresher lesson and see how you get on. I didn't have to give up my licence post brain surgery but was advised that I could not drive for ... don't remember if there was a specific time, I had to get someone to agree that it was OK which was a game in itself! Anyway, it was well over 3 months in which I didn't drive, so there was no way I was just getting back behind the wheel just like that!
I have no idea how you get over the worry about possibly fitting again out of the blue.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Under which catagory did you apply?
Both Learning Disability and Mental Health are very difficult to 'pass' and not as straight forward as having a physical disability.0 -
its clearly very diffrent by area
when i applied for mine, all i did was tick the box that said 'would be refused a driving licence' and it came within 1 week, and they never even checked with my psych nurse (i put his contact details in the evidence box)
my friend has autism and he just ticked 'learning disability' and his came without beeing checked too2 esa medicals passed successfully (support group - it can be done!!)!! :j0 -

When I applied for my freedom pass in London, I ticked the box "I am known to social services as a disabled person" and got a letter a month later telling me I wasn't. (I was and had the paperwork on its way to me) Only took almost 5 months to sort out.:mad:Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
