Grrr - Audi Dealers!

Options
I've been trying to arrange a test dive at my local Audi dealer on and off now since before christmas. Its getting a bit more important now as I am looking to change the car in March or April yet they still cant organise a test drive for me. Whats wrong with these people - do they want to sell me a car or not?

  • You probably need to ask the if you can dRive the car - I don't think a test dive would do the car much good! ;)

Srsly, I would go elsewhere. If they don't want your business now when you want to spend money, what chance do you have if you need some work done on the car under the warranty?
  • They give you the hard sell when you go in, I wanted a second hand audi a3 he tried to sell me a brand new one in a colour I didn't want not even a quattro that i wanted so I walked out.

Walk in, and ask them to take you for a spin.

I tried that - they only seem to have diesel models available but I want to test a petrol model.

If this how they treat you when you want to buy a car think about how they would treat you if your car had any problems

Bypass salesman.woman, talk to manager, say you have been waiting for a test drive for a couple of months, if he doesn't organise it within the next week you will take your money elsewhere

My husband booked a test drive in the Q7 when it first came out, when he arrived at reception they had a form waiting for him to sign. They wanted him to agree to a £1000 (may have been £1500 can't quite remember) excess if the vehicle was damaged. My husband gave them the form back and walked out without saying a word.
We are at the moment looking at the BMW 5series GT but the 3 times we have visited our local showroom we seemed to have been avoided like the plague, I know people don't like salesmen who are pushy and won't leave you alone, but this is bordering on the ridiculous. We haven't booked a test drive yet as my hubby has his arm in pot from new year, but the Jaguar dealer we visited insisted on taking us out just to see what we thought of the car.
I don't know whether to ring and book a test drive in the BMW or not.

Phone their H.O and explain to them. They will sort it out immediately am sure. Me and OH both drive Audis and they have always bent over backwards from pre-sale to post sale. Maybe its just a crap branch.

  • I agree, or just ring you local branch (would love to know where) & explain, I'm sure they will soon arrange one for you. Audi are bending over backwards for costume at the moment so I'm surprised you've been having difficulties.

It must depend how you look.

I bought a brand new Audi A4 last year, i walked into the showroom and they were falling over themselves to offer me a test drive.
