This has just been discussed over on Purrsinourhearts forums and the Miele Cat and Dog is coming out well ahead of the Dyson Animal. My Dyson picks up cat hair fine tho and I don't have the animal version - you can buy the extra attachments on the Dyson site, so if you can get the £100 Asda Dyson, upgrade it yourself!
i have has 3 dysons over 10 years & i am despearte for the Miele cat & dog hoover, just need £200!!!!
my grandparents have a Miele hoover & it is the best hoover i have ever used :beer:mummy to 3 monsters!

Got our fairly top range Dyson nearly 5 years ago and its still going strong. Would never get another vacuum cleaner, we have pets and they get everything up, the suction power is so strong. I find the build quality very good on mine and haven't had a single problem. I got a Dyson because my mum had always had them and she was a fan, and I've grown to see why.0

I bought a dyson when they first came out (DC01) I loved it, then got a cyclinder dyson for upstairs absolutely useless didn't even pick talcum powder up. I then replaced the DC01 with a newer model (grey/green) that was useless aswell, if you pulled the hose out of the back it used to topple over (very unstable). My sister had the same model and when she was doing the stairs with the hose it toppled towards her and as she tried to stop it falling she cut her hand on a sharp piece of plastic. We now both now have Henry's but they take a bit of storage space up. To be honest, the little Bosch cylinder I have at our caravan is just as good and doesn't take up much space.
MLHe who has four and spends five, needs neither purse nor pocket0 -
Last time I looked at Which (admittedly not that recently) they said they wouldn't recommend Dyson as a Best Buy because of its unreliability as a brand. There will always be good ones and poor ones, but if the overall brand is viewed in that light by an independent reviewer then I'd believe them.0

We have a golden retriever so i know what you mean about the hairs and i have the dc 25 and its works wonders. Argos are doing a special offer on at the mo. Its the new dc 27 for £219 then you get a £50 gift card as well. Obviously your going to get a lot of mixed reviews but i cant fault them.0

p.s. they also offer a 10 year repair / replace guarantee for £30 and you get a free box of bags, worth £10 or £15 i think

We've had a dyson for over 7 years and still works a dream ! The front is practically covered in dog bites so its looking a bit worn down... but still does its job0
