    thanks blu

My GP said he would have been reluctant to give me HRT due to the risk of ovarian cancer and as I have not ahd a successful smear test for some years, and cos im only 28 there were too many risk factors. He said he would give it me if I wanted it, but I didnt. In any case the coil has been removed now, as i just couldnt handle the heat & fainting & sweats and so forth.

Ive spoke to the DWP, it is DLA - you can apply for DLA if you are employed, something i didnt know- so we'll see
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Yes DLA is paid for the extra costs of having a disability and there are two elements, care and mobility and within that there are 3 care rates and 2 mobility rates. You can qualify for either or both care/mobility. It is not dependent on income and you can work while on it, but obviously doing some kind of work that you are able to do given the conditions that you are claiming for.

Sorry to hear that - sounds awful. Can't help on the employment side much, but hopefully on the condition side. Firstly, I would agree with the previous poster that it might be worth getting the IUD removed - I'm surprised, in fact, that you were given that, as use of an IUD is associated with a higher risk of PID. IMO, if that's been given to you for extreme menstrual pain, you'd be better off having a hormonal contraceptive, such as Depo-Provera to reduce or even cease your periods. Yes, there is a slight increase in risk of certain cancers with this, as with HRT (same hormones used), but on the other hand, it protects against some cancers as well. QUOTE]

Depo Provera is on its way to being banned in the states as it causes heart problems neurological problems and kidney problems. There is a major law suite being brought against the company who makes it by users of the drug and of course their lawyers. They are looking to do same here. It could already of been banned by now.

Sorry, I never answered that I havent had periods since I was a teenager, which was one of the reasons they asked me to come off the Depo.

Anyway, no more fake hormones for me. I will start being au naturel again, and maybe, just maybe, they will get to the root of this pain once and for all

Update is DDA should also apply to me, so having a good read of that now :)
