i just don't like the way sellers get negged for silly things that could have been sorted so easily it winds me up because as a seller you stand to loose a lot when you get a couple of bad buyers that you can't seem to please.
you listed on ebay.co.uk i assume?
therefore you are selling ot the UK market
whether you agree with the neg or not it was your error0 -
The buyer was obviously phsycic and realised "Not my fault" would be your reaction and just saved any aggro by leaving a neg. :rotfl:0

what can you do when buyers don't even give you the chance to resolve things? i would have given a full refund even though the listing wasn't actually technically wrong.
is there a way ebay can take off the neg as i didn't actually do anything wrong. whats to stop a buyer getting everything they want and more and still leaving a neg?
Every DVD listing offers you an iterm specific drop down option for the region and you did not enter it.
How is that doing nothing wrong?
If you do not give buyers the full information then you are simply setting yourself up for problems. Accept some responsibility for your own actions, and learn from this experience.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
why are some people so horrid on here, i stated i wasn't happy about being negged for something i WOULD HAVE REFUNDED STRAIGHT AWAY.
Why did i deserve a neg for an easy mistake to make, fair enough i would expect it to be region 2 thats why i would have refunded and let them keep the dvd too. I didn't know it wasn't region 2.
It was listed as a quick listing and i must have missed the usual drop down boxes anyway.
I have nearly 1000 feedbacks all positive, would a buyer in this situation not have thought it was a genuine mistake and emailed first?
My attitude does not stink i was mearly stating that i hadn't listed it as region 2 and sent a region 1 obvious mistake. The mistake i made was in not filling out the item specifics.
Maybe i didn't explain what i meant clearly enough i wasn't trying to get out of refunding etc at all.
I did refund the buyer as i genuinely didn't mean to leave the region out of the listing. They then revised their feedback as realised it was a genuine mistake, so thanks to all you lovely kind considerate people.0 -
A Refund is not always satisfactory on a low priced item as the postage is lost and you have to pay the postage back...its just not worth the bother, even if your offered full refund.
how is this? item was a dvd postage is free for the buyer they paid 2.75 i refunded 2.75 they kept dvd. i don't understand why a neg would be fair in this situation. am i being unreasonable or something? what more can a seller do genuine mistakes happen. i just disagree with the instant neg for something so easily sorted.0 -
lindseykim13 wrote: »you are bang out of order and if you read it properly i said i would have refunded if the buyer had emailed me as i understood that they would assume it was region 2. even i thought it was region 2 simple mistake, so what is so wrong about asking a buyer to email first.
So now you admit it was your mistake?
Seems a lot of hassle and grief could have been prevented if you had accepted this from the start.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Maybe you should reread what you have said. This is the first time you have actually admitted the mistake was with your listing
From your original Post

No one questioned the fact that you would have offered a refund what they questioned was the way you were trying to wriggle out responsibility for your listing. With the attitude you displayed in the first post its not surprisinglindseykim13 wrote:is there a way ebay can take off the neg as i didn't actually do anything wrong0 -

fair enough maybe i shouldn't have bothered with the technically i havn't done anything wrong part, and rightly so i appreciate people correcting me on this but when certain members start getting personal and leaving nasty hurtfull comments it doesn't help anyone.
I won't be using this particular board again not that it bothers anyone but this has put me right off, thanks to those that stuck to the facts and helped me to sort this out.0 -
I do agree with the OP about feedback issues with ebay though, as far as they are heavily weighted against the seller. It does annoy me that I am unable as a seller to leave a -ve comment for a buyer when it is warranted, yet they can leave it for me. Not all buyers are perfect and as a seller I do feel open to exploitation sometimes.0

Whether you deserve a negative a negative is neither here nor there. The buyer gave you one. Ebay will do nothing about it, and you buyer doesn't have to either. If you really want to keep 100%, set up a buying ID, as sellers can't neg buyers. That way, if you sell and get negged in future, you won't have to gnash your teeth too much or for too long.
You unfortunately omitted to make clear a vital part of the description of the item you were selling.- Your buyer may have had a run in with another seller recently, and even though they tried to resolve it before leaving feedback, might've been fobbed off by the seller.
- They might be a mean person.
- They might not know that they could ask you to sort it out, or that you would.
Really though, forget about getting the feedback you feel you deserve. Rightly or wrongly, you get the feedback your customers feel you deserve.
Lastly, whatever happens, leave a factual, non - beligerent or abusive response to their comment. Most people can read, and if they feel inclined to check your negs, seeing a well written, sensible reply goes a long way to negating the neg.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0
